I teach adult education Introductory classes for the entire line of Mircosoft products, everything from Win 95 and Win 98 to Microsoft Office. I have found that this book is very complete in its approach to the course. The basics are covered in great detail and the advance topics are taught in such a way that beginners can start using them almost immediately. I recommend this book to anyone that would like to self-teach themselves the Mircosoft Office product line.
