This book is a waste of time and money. The appendix actually references many subjects and pages that are not even in the book. I guess they did not bother to change the appendix when the wrote the brief version. Pretty lame!

This brief edition was not the book I needed for the class, therefore, I will take the class in fall 2010. I returned the book and a refund was issued.

This is the "BRIEF" edition of the text book, meaning it has only the first 12 chapters. If you are buying this for a college course and are attracted to the cheap price (my college book store offers the full text book for over $200), be aware that this book is missing the last 11-12 chapters.
Besides that, it is a very good and informative text book, and it explains the mathematical concepts of things like mortgages, credit lending, et cetera. It's definitions and explanations are very thorough with a lot of examples and applications that are practical to our lives.

If there was ever a business math book designed for the mathematical challenged students, this is the book. The definitions are concise or/and poorly written. This book deviates from using the formulae of each subject--unless absolutely necessary. Instead, the lesson is to learn how to read a chart and input the number(s) into an example or formula. In summary, you will not learn much--if anything.

easy and quick transaction but not enough detail about the item since it was the "Breif Edition" and not the true edition so i had to go buy the real book for the class since this book only had chapters 1-8 and we need the book that goes through all 20 some chapters.
