I personally have this book and it is one of the best. It showed me exactly what high tech carping is all about. I don't know what the 10 year old from mass is talking about, no where does Mr.Cundiff mention spearfishing nor the use of treble hook. In fact he preaches the use of barbless hooks. If you read this book you will probably get the feeling that the brits care way too much about carp. So buy this book with confidence knowing that this book will give you solid grounding in basic and advance carp fishing. I reapeat no where did he mention spearfishing for carp.

Fantastic Action-packed psychological thriller,

Practical carp fishing dealt with issues much larger than merely fishing for for cyprinus carpio. It dealt first hand with future implications of first the introduction of robotic carp and secondly there subsequent takeover of Western hemisphere through intricate spy networks, hypnotism, and mind control. this book had great heroes, villains, and of course robots. It was almost as good as "When Carp Could Vote".

Practical Carp Fishing was an insightful yet straight to the point book. It combined instruction and elegant prose into one masterpiece. My only problem about giving the book an excellent review was the authors proposition that carp are " for the most part evil creatures ". I found this view to be not only hateful, but completely contradictory to the huge mass of research suggesting the complete opposite. Also disturbing was the author's " carp as slaves " suggestion. This book will certainly set carp fishing back 20 to 30 years in most anglers minds
