5.0 out of 5 stars Learning Chinese
This is a great set of books if you are serious about learning Chinese. It starts with the fundamentals and builds week by week. The workbooks gives plenty of practice
to really compound what you are learning, but you do need to get a hold of the audio CD to go with it so that you can do the exercises, however this is available in most instances to download.

3.0 out of 5 stars a real customer opinion
generally a good book but it is very difficult to study after having finished the first volume because the transition from Vol1 to Vol2 is very sudden and does not include pinyn. Also the presentation of the grammar is very unfriendly and difficult to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good material, March 29, 2009
This review is from: New Practical Chinese Reader, Workbook Vol. 2 (Paperback)
Although the topis are based on situations for university students, the book covers the 4 main skills (writing, reading, speaking and listening) in a very good way. The authors should include colorful photos in order to offer a more attractive material though.
