The level 2 and 3 books are the continuing series the book Practical Chinese. The vocabulary and sentences continue to build up. The learning is as rolling a snowball; students are able to express themselves using more words and more topics in three different aspects. All the vocabulary in each chapter is listed out with pinyin and English meaning for students easy reference. At the end of each book, there is a wrap up exercise, which reviews the entire book to prepare for next level s study. Each chapter context is especially designed to aid students in the reading exercises. Since the later chapters are based on material learned from the previous chapters, it should be easier for students to move on to higher level reading levels because constant reinforcement builds a better foundation. All the exercises are designed to reinforce the reading, writing, and speaking aspects. The book s learning process is based upon a gradual building up as a pyramid, starting from words that build into to sentences that then become paragraphs, all the while providing the stroke orders for each new character. It enables teachers to practice asking and answering questions based on the provided exercises. The emphasis of this book is to make the Chinese language easy to learn and practical for immediate use.

With English and pinyin, it helps non-Chinese speakers to learn at home, and all learners to build a solid foundation. Introduction to pinyin is included in the level one book. The book series covers the Pre-K through college level. There is a workbook and a CD/cassette to accompany to each level, which can be purchased separately. About the Author

Wendy Lin is a licensed Chinese language teacher, owns two Masters' degrees: an Education Master's degree and a computer Science Master's degree. Based on her experience of teaching Chinese language and culture in both public and private schools, as well as in American and Chinese schools, Wendy designed these series books primarily for the students' daily needs.
