This review is from: The Practical Joke War (Disney's the Little Mermaid Novels, No 9) (Paperback)
I fell in love with Ariel's six older sisters way back when the original movie first came out in 1989, but aside from bit parts in that film, occasional appearances in the TV series, and the new prequel movie, there has not been much shown of the sisters. This book series changes that. All of the girls get equal focus and well-developed personalities. There are lovely black and white illustrations randomly inserted throughout the book, adding to the charm. The plot is easy enough for kids to understand, but I think parents will enjoy reading it too.
Plot synopsis: Ariel's older sister Andrina has always loved playing jokes on her sisters, but lately she's been getting out of control with the pranks. After several days of dealing with Andrina's tricks, the other six siblings decide enough is enough. They declare war on Andrina, involving some of Ariel's friends. What will happen? |
