4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reference book for what ails you!, December 9, 1999
This review is from: The Practical Encyclopedia of Natural Healing (Mass Market Paperback)
A truly indispensable reference book to have on hand for whatever ails you. The remedies are simple and relatively inexpensive. Vitamin and herbal therapies are offered as cures for a wide range of illnesses and conditions. Sufficient scientific data is presented without weighing the reader down in statistics and numbers. Clearly and conversationally written, I found the book to be surprisingly comprehensive in discussing a wide range of ailments and remedies. Following even one of these remedies could save one hundreds of dollars wasted at the doctor's office and on prescription medications. Every home ought to have this book sitting on the shelf next to "The Joy of Cooking".

I'm a practing Herbalist and teach 3 days a week to other desiring to become herbalist. One of my students brought this book in and left it asking me to look over it. It must have been fate, since I was teaching on integumenary system that day, because when I flipped through it, the book landed open on Skin, Hair and Nails. Viola' I was impressed with how Mark explained this system to the point and with detail but not to wordy either. At the time I was developing the correspondance study course and from that very day decided this would be the mandatory reader for all students. This book was written in 1973, printed in hardback and weather the author knew it at the time, this would was intended to be in hardback. An excellent learning tool for new and seasoned. I'm still impressed with this book.
