I have purchased this book for all of my friends. The photos are incredible and the descriptions of each food are superb. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in good health for nutrition.

I own this book and wanted to buy a copy for an adult ESL student who works in an upscale Italian restaurant. She is making the transition from busperson to waitress. Our lessons focus on the food section of the local newspaper, but I wanted a visual reference book for her to learn ingredients and cooking terms. This colorful and interesting book will meet our needs!

So a 'whole food' is apparently defined as veggies, whole grains, tofu, that sort of thing (I was wondering when I bought the book). This book has GREAT pictures and lots of information about whole foods as well as recipies (which look good, although I haven't tried them yet). If you are looking for a reference that will give you general background and info, this book can't be beat.
