Save time and hassles with Royce's tips, dubbing with WOOL!,
By Ernie Kalwa (Grand River Country: Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Practical Fly Tier, The (Hardcover)
Wow, this book cuts to the chase and helped me pick up fly tying in no time! The word "Practical" in the title says it all! Pragmatic and Practical techniques for sure. Buy his two DVDs too. They show you first-hand! Royce sure knows his stuff, and the beauty of dubbing with wool will have you tying flies faster than anybody using animal fur. The secret is in carding the wool. I went out to a department store and picked up two carding brushes for $20 total. My wool cost me all of $8.00 from a sheep-farmer and should last for at least 1000 flies. Wool makes dry flies look and work even better than fur-dubbed flies.

Wool Dubbing Fast and Simple,
By Michael Johnson (Kenosha, WI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Practical Fly Tier, The (Hardcover)
The photography of this book is worth the price alone. Royce's techniques are simple yet useful to novice and expert alike. His wool dubbing method is so simple and quick I have used nothing else since. You can master this wool dubbing quickly and take all the work out of nymphs to drys. Good stories as well.
