Editorial Reviews

Review

"For young endoscopists, this book is a wonderful introduction to the principles of endoscopy, from the design of the endoscopic unit all the way through to patient discharge. It also has great descriptions of how understanding torque, patient positioning, and managing scope length will transform one into an excellent endoscopist". (Doody's, 31 December 2010)

Review

'This book is essential reading for all trainees in gastroenterology and should be read by all practicing endoscopists who are interested in improving their techniques.' Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, August 1998 on the 4th edition

'The two titans of the endoscopic firmament have updated a book that is packed end to end with practical advice. I have no idea how many hundreds of endoscopists this pair have taught but their students are fortunate indeed. The rest of us can just share in their experience from their book.' Gut, Nov 1996 on the 4th edition. --This text refers to the Unknown Binding edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb November 13, 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Excellent book for every novice in the field of endoscopic gastroenterology.
As the other reviewers have noted it's very easy to read and unlike other endoscopic textbooks I've encountered it discusses the actual process of the procedure, i.e. endoscope placement, movement, rotation etc. I would suggest combining it with some atlas or other textbook to help interpret the endoscopy findings.
