3.0 out of 5 stars could this cause more spam ?, March 15, 2008
This review is from: The Practical Guide to Email Marketing: Strategies and Tactics for Inbox Success (Paperback)
I can't fully decide if this book ends up contributing to more spam for everyone, or not. It is careful to dump on spam and spammers. Instead, it suggests how to build and maintain a mailing list. With opt-in and double opt-in. This way, you presumably have some assurance that your recipients really do want (most of) your messages.

A short book and a quick read. A considerable portion of it is on how avoid your messages getting labelled as spam. Either by the recipients' mail servers or by the recipients themselves, assuming that the email gets to them. So, for example, some subject lines or words in those should be avoided. These are often tell tale indicators of out and out spam. Now, the first generation antispam products sometimes looked for bad keywords in the subject. So your emails could get bagged there. While some (or many) people have gotten used to so much spam that if they see a listing of messages, giving the subjects, certain keywords will be a complete turn off.
