Healing Ways, a Great Resource,
By Fr. Gary Andersen (Parkland, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Practical Guide to Hospital Ministry: Healing Ways (Haworth Religion and Mental Health.) (Paperback)
I enjoyed this comprehensive resource and I intend to keep it in my library for reference. It not only spells out the rolls and responsibilities of the Hospital Chaplain but it outlines current training approaches by providing resources such as scope of practice statements, sample request forms, orientation checklists and a list of typical counseling scenarios. This book contains many personal case studies with suggestions relating to solving many counseling situations. Most of the tools needed for Hospital Ministry are included within the covers of this book. I think this resource should be required reading for anyone in chaplaincy training programs.
