Mr. Stage does a very good job in introducing the business of Process serving to the in-experienced but interested reader. This book is small but packs a good punch of useful insight. He uses some personal experiences but only enough to guide you through an explanation of the proper techniques and procedures. I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in the field of process serving. Very Insightful!! Just what I was looking for!!

This Little Bitty Book has more information in it that is applicable to actually doing the job of Process Service than some of the larger, more expensive books have in them. This book explains terms, methods, and general legalities where the lay person can understand them but also the experienced person in the field of process service can appreciate them. This book was a great buy!

Yes, it's 128 pages, however, the entire book is approx. 3" wide x 5" tall x 1/2" thick, so they're teeny-weeny pages...

That said, there is A LOT of information in this little book; it's worth the price just for the new terms & glossary included throughout & at the end. I live in Wyoming, where the Sheriff's Office generally does the process service, but this book will help me get in on the action, too. I've never seen any ads for 'special' (private/independent) process servers in my town, so I might find a pretty good little niche to supplement my business.

Overall, a great investment for $5 & definitely a good addition to my personal library.

...unless you live in Missouri. Much of the (limited) information in this guide is rather specific to the rules of civil procedure in the author's home state only.

Do NOT get started in the field of process serving based solely on this book; much of the information given is incorrect and/or incomplete depending on where you live.

Three stars for the meager techniques/tips that a pure novice may find useful.

Wm. Stage's "The Practical Guide to Process Serving" is a must-read for all new Process Servers who are desperate for information to get started in the business. I especially recommend this book for those who live in states that do not offer formal Process Server training. Stage provides the "nuts & bolts" of the business. I especially found the definitions and terms extremely helpful. It's a shame that I'm just now reading this, after being in the business for twelve months. I was able to make immediate improvements to my work processes because of what I learned from this book. Now I know why the book is packaged the way that it is. It's small so that you can take it with you on the road - which is just what I did today. It's still in my purse. If you don't read this book, you better hope you get this valuable information somewhere else. Buy it for yourself. Buy it for someone you know who is just getting started. They will never stop thanking you for the gift. P.S. If anyone hears about the author publishing Practical Guide Part II, email me. I don't want to be the last to know.

This book was very helpful while I was studying for a process serving certification exam. It is small, but packed with helpful and useful information. At $7.95 it is also a very good price. It has a great glossary, description of the background of process serving, and personal stories with tips.

Received the book on time. Use to do process serving and now getting back into the business for part-time income. Book was very helpful! Recommended!!!

This was probably the first book published exclusively about process serving and for a long time it was the only thing going. The major drawback is that is is only intended for a particular state which is also a unique jurisdiction with rules that don't generally apply elsewhere. So if you work in Missouri its no less than a textbook for the job. Otherwise, it still provides a good overview of what process servers do and that's helpful if you want to know at least that much. Well worth 8 bucks! The Process Server's Handbook duplicates allot of this information but is not state-specific and is more broad-ranging.

for Process Serving it is just the right pocket guide to carry with you. Its small enough and informative so you don't have to carry anything larger for Process Serving.

I thought this book was a great practical insight written by someone who has done this for a living. Very informative and entertaining.
