I'm So Glad This Book Came My Way!,
By gilda (way out in the boons, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
Having read other books by Mr McCabe, I had high expectations of this one, and wasn't disappointed. In my search and study of alternative approaches to wellness, prevention and cure, I have often had difficulty finding material that was comprehensive AND interesting. This handbook is not only useful, its pleasant to read, and easily understood. In our home, we keep our copy of Practical Homeopathy handy on our reference shelf with our other wellness books, and have used it several times already! I highly recommend Practical Homeopathy, and believe you will find it as useful and engaging as we have. :)be Well!

Wonderful place to start -- and a good place to visit later on!,
By JackieLL (Carmel, IN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
I really enjoy McCabe's books. He is knowledgeable and writes enjoyable, understandable, useful material. This book was the first book on homeopathy I ever read. I will admit that, at first, it was a bit baffling. I opened the book up, thumbed through it to get an overview...and saw the brief repertories and thought, "huh?" :)So, many homeopathy books later, I can say that, of all the books I have, this is the one I refer to the most. What I initially perceived as an impenetrable mess (sorry, but it's true!) merely reflected the nature of homeopathy. It's complex stuff. To go too far and "make it simple" is to strip it of its essence and usefulness. Some books do that. McCabe's didn't. He strikes the right balance between simplicity (for the newer folks) with completeness (which is what a good homeopath aims for). Highly recommended.

Goes Deeper than Let Like Cure Like,
By E.V. Debs (Waukegan, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
Having returned to Let Like Cure Like several times to put the pieces of my own profile into place, I was excited to see that this book provides just the kind of specificity I was looking for. Pinpointing common environmental factors as elemental as air or water, the reader can easily relate to McCabe's suggestions. The strength of his approach is his holistic approach rather than isolating certain factors. It's about how environment and the body are integrated that makes finding solutions plausible. With recent controversies about vaccines and their connections to chronic conditions and even genetic factors, this book is even more relevant now than when it was written. Above all, the reader will emerge with a more deliberate understanding of her/his own body and well being.

Great book for those new to Homeopathy,

This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
I agree with the positive comments above; the book is not only accessible and informative, it is written with more flair than one has a right to expect from what is essentially a reference book. I felt as if the author were talking directly to me, with humor and a kind of tone that is nurturing without being sentimental or too "new age." He knows his subject and makes it understandable and clear. You'll be glad you purchased this one.

Beginner's Guide - and everyone else's too,
This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
As the cover states, this book is easy to use, and handy too. It has helped my family and friends countless times in the treatment or alleviation of symptoms of everything from colds, allergies, flu, ear aches, not to mention what seems like hundreds of first aid moments. It is easy to use and after owning this for over a year we all think to turn to it. But the more I learn and read about homeopathy, the more I realize this book is more than a beginner's guide. It is as comprehensive as anything else out there when it comes to how to treat many ailments, but it is also a book that educates about homeopathy in general - in a manner that is easy to understand and fun to read. I think that's why using homeopathic remedies is starting to feel intuitive to me. The book is a practical guide as to what remedy to use for an ailment, yes, but it also explains when and how to use remedies to their best effect. This is a great book to have handy on your shelf.

Great collection of useful homeopathy treatments.,
By Tina (Greenwich, CT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
This is a great homeopathic book to keep as a reference. For more than 10 years I have used homeopathic remedies and I still refer to this book for the condensed version of acute treatments. The author's knowledge in homeopathy is far greater than most practitioners I have dealt with. I love the simplicistic information on remedies. I highly recommend reading all of Vinton McCabe's books. Practical Homeopathy

This is a book you will refer to over and over again!,
This review is from: Practical Homeopathy (Paperback)
This is a well written and highly comprehensive book for anyone interested in incorporating homeopathy into his or her life. Whether you are a beginner or have experience in this area of study, you will NOT be disappointed! Simply look up the symptom or ailment and find the remedy, while being thoroughly engaged in Mr.McCabe's honest and entertaining writing style. As I read passages, I feel as if he is sitting with me and coaching me along. I am a healthcare practioner as well as the mother of three children, so I have countless opportunities to use this wonderful book with both my patients and family. I have read other books on homeopathy and this one is my favorite by far.

This book has been a wonderful reference tool. It is easy to understand, gives brief but wonderful history of homeapathic medicine. It gives you detailed information to be able to make a choice about taking control of your healthcare. I have already used it many times to make sure I am using the correct remedy for the situation and have been amazed at the results. If you are getting frustrated with the general healthcare given buy what we call traditional medicine and would like to check out other options this is a great book to get your feet wet with.
