Book Description

September 24, 1997
She calls herself a "practicing intuitive", having harnessed the power of instinct in her own life. Laura Day believes that everyone can be "an intuitive", and having conducted workshops for more than 10 years, she has amassed a remarkable following of luminaries from across the business world who concur.

In Practical Intuition for Profit, Day outlines a 10-day program for readers, showing how they too can develop their sixth sense to enhance their business decisions. In a powerful blend of exercises and examples of "intuition in action" from her own life and from the workplace and investment worlds, she shows readers how intuition can give them an edge to:
-- Make more money
-- Be happy career wise
-- Gain more insight into personal investments
-- Solve problems quickly
-- Unleash their inner financial genius
-- Choose winning business strategies
-- Beat the competition
-- Decide which business to start
-- Uncover enemies and hidden agendas in the workplace -- and come out ahead

Day believes that intuition is like meditation or exercise; it requires practice and should be integrated into our daily lives. Practical Intuition for Profit enables reader to find, release, and enrich their intuitive capabilities, bringing them and their businesses to unprecedented levels of success.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Laura Day has sold millions of copies of Practical Intuition and continues her advice here with tips for improving your career using your own intuitive skills. She says that people are more apt to use their intuition about commonplace issues than they are about investment or business practices, a horrible waste of intuitive powers. Through dozens of exercises, Day describes how you can boost your intuitive power, "become" your competition, and better predict the future. Day makes no guarantees that you'll pick the next blue-chip bond or invent the next wheel, but she does assert that your life can't help but improve if you take her ideas to heart. This book is a combination of Jon Kabat-Zinn's, mindfulness meditation theories and What Color is Your Parachute-ish self-reflection.

From Library Journal

Day, who teaches private seminars on using your intuition, shares tips on becoming more intuitive to liberate your inner financial genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Enlightening!, May 28, 2000
By
Joric S. Sanchez (Manila, Philippines) - See all my reviews
The author opens the reader's mind to the vast potential of one's intution, and how it can be harnessed for success. She shows the reader that intuition can be relied on to answer the simplest of everyday questions to the most difficult business or professional problem. What I found most helpful in the book were the exercises. The exercises showed how intuition manifests itself in everyday life and how I could attune myself to my own intuition. Moreover, the author provided a lot of anecdotes to crystalize her points. A VERY GOOD READ!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reframes Thinking on Intuition, July 14, 2002
By
Robert Jerus (Davenport, FL United States) - See all my reviews
From a practical standpoint, Day separates thinking of emotions, pure logic and reasoning from intuition. She defines this intuitive thinking as logical and, essential for success. Her thoughts are quite compelling. Rather than the pure gut feeling or abstractions that generally constitute intuition, Day develops an understanding of how this skill can be cultivated from both thought and feeling. Rather than an illogical urge, it becomes a developed sense. The exercises and examples extensively developed empower the reader to adapt this skill for personal achievement. A good read.

This is a good book it's longer then some of her other ones and it has a lot more exercises in it then some of her other books so unless you have a lot of time on your hands it will take a while to read it. But, other then that it is a good book and I did enjoy it. I'm going to start to read practical intuition in love.
