This book; though not terribly 'Practical' does present the clandestine chemist with a number of valuable concepts. The first is that certain precursors (in this case ergot; though the concept applies to Safrole and Ephedrine as well)are becoming very difficult to obtain; and as such require the chemist to produce them his/herself, either by Total Synthesis or as My Uncle suggests here by growing them. The second important concept My Uncle puts forth is that "if all you want is some trips for yourself and your friends, MDA & TMA-2 are much eaisier to synthesis than LSD". These regardless of what may or may not be said are the most valuable points in this book.

I purchased this out of sheer curiousity - what goes into the manufacture of this powerful chemical agent, and what kind of individual would write a how-to manual. I was impressed with the concise, clear quality of the writing. Despite the author's wholly unapologetic treatment of the subject, I found their intellect and humor to be refreshing. I cannot speak to the informational quality of the text, as I have never manufactured LSD, nor do I intend to - however, the text was detailed technically, and full of practical safety tips. At the same time that I found the text, and it's mere existence, fascinating and refreshing, I also felt a bit sad that such an excellent intellect is wasted on illicit activities, and slowly degraded by consumption of their product.

Although it's been many decades since I took a trip and never left the farm I always had a curiosity about LSD. While I certainly do not recommend its consumption, manufacture, or distirbution, there's something almost voyeuristic about knowing the inside info on something like this. For me anyway. An interesting read.

I bought this for my boyfriend for christmas and he fell in love with it. it has very descriptive steps to follow. definetly a must have.

This book was very "wordy". Im a very avid reader and i had no idea what half the words in this book ment. And the book was upside-down from the cover.. which was weird. dont know if it was a printing mistake or somethign to do with the topic of the book an it just kind of messing with the reader but either way it was strage to find. unless ur very chemicaly advanced and know all the vocabulary of the subject i wouldnt suggest this book.

A very curious read. If you actually try and practice the insructions you will get lost for sure? Albert was a professional chemist and came across LSD by coincidence? LSD is a conscious drug and most people do not benefit from being more conscious? Albert was one of the few who got a very good long life for trying it, lived to be 99 years old. Unless someone has told you, lets say a soothsayer says that your life will be shortlived, I would not try and consciously change your life with this substance?
