Book Description

August 28, 2003
Palmistry is the fascinating art of analyzing personality and life development through studying not only the lines on the palm, but also the shape of the hand and fingers. The book contains user-friendly, large-format palm illustrations aimed at those who have little or no experience of palmistry, but want to read their own hands and those of their friends and family, for fun and enlightenment. It's easy to follow, use and understand, with life-size illustrations of the various hand and finger shapes. The reader simply has to place their hands/fingers on the relevant page to discover which hand type they have. Arranged by life-sphere: health, emotions, relationships, career etc, The Palmistry Toolkit for Beginners makes information easy to access and is packed with helpful insights into all these important areas of life. A large magnifier sheet is included - an essential tool for studying the smaller lines on the palm and the fingerprints.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great first palmistry book, December 29, 2005
This review is from: Practical Palmistry (Paperback)
There are a lot of palmistry books out there, but this one is a great starter book for me. In fact, i lost my first copy of this book. So, in looking for another palmistry book, and perusing other choices, i decided to purchase a second copy of this book to replace the lost one.

The history of palmistry is not covered. Only four pages of introduction and history are spared. This was okay for me.

The pictures are not cheesy like other books i looked at.
I'm very visual, and the pictures in this book are useful, enhancing the text.

The organization of the book is clear, and presented in questions that we want to know about ourselves. The eleven chapter titles are:
Hand and Finger Shapes
1) What type of person am I?
2) How do i express myself?
3) What are my strengths?
Palm Directory
4) How does my mind work?
5) Am I an emotional person?
6) How will my love life develop?
7) Will I have children?
8) What sort of career will i Have?
9) How will my career develop?
10) How can i look after my health?
11) Is there anything special in my hand?

Finger shapes, singnificance of the phalanges, fingerprints (whorls, loops, arches, etc.), angle of the thumb, length of fingers relative to each other, condition of the nails, and more is covered.
Major lines, minor lines, dating events, and symbols (crosses, stars, triangles, circles, islands, etc.), mounts, and more is covered.

This book deals with the active hand--the dominant hand, which is usually the right hand. It does not talk about the passive hand nor about karma or potential.

My tactic for using the book is to pick just a few interesting things to master at a time. I practice on people for a while until i feel comfortable that i have them learned. Then i go back and pick a few more interesting things and practice some more. I recommend this for beginners to avoid being overwhelmed.

There is a lot of good information, good useable, applicable information in this book.

Happy palm reading, my friends!!

Angela
