PRACTICAL REAL ESTATE LAW, 6E, is the ideal book for educating and training future paralegals about the intricacies of real estate law and transactions. This user-friendly book covers the central areas involved in transactional real estate in detail. These areas include real estate contracts, real estate brokerage relationships, real estate finance as it specifically relates to residential and commercial processes, surveys, title insurance and federal taxation and how it applies to the ownership and investment in real estate. Practical Real Estate Law, 6E, also discusses the many new laws that have been passed to assist homeowners facing foreclosure.Case summaries successfully illustrate how the legal principles operate in the real world and will give readers practice in reading and analyzing case material. While many theories of residential and commercial real estate transactions are the same, students and practicing paralegals will benefit greatly from the residential-specifc and commercial-specific discussions, forms, and checklists that explain the vast differences.

4.0 out of 5 stars Basic but thorough. Great for RE investors September 6, 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Very easy to read and understand. It's written for paralegals, so it covers a ton of the busy-work type parts of real estate law. This is very useful for people who like to handle as much of the ground work as they can on their own, before calling their attorney. Very useful for RE investors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Estate Review February 18, 2012
By klw24
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This book was phenominal. It guided me through the real estate process with guides and examples along the throughout the entire book. I was pleased with the outcome of this book and what I got out of it. I made to sure to copy all of the examples of real estate forms contained in the book so that they will act as a guide for me once I start my paralegal work.

I am confident in my knowledge of real estate law after reading this book. The book offers case scenarios to do at the end of each chapter. It provides a summary of the chapter. The chapters do appear to be long, but that is only because each chapter is packed with tons of examples. It was intimidating for me when the chapters were 40 pages long, but I soon realized why.

You will learn alot from this book. I know I did.

I purchased the book for a college class I am taking.
It arrived quickly and in good condition.
