This review is from: Practical School Security: Basic Guidelines for Safe and Secure Schools (Paperback)
I remember standing in front of a School Board at an urban district talking about Ken Trump and what he could do for the security of the schools there. I wanted the Board to approve a contract with Ken to conduct an overall security check at our school. They declined. They felt it was too much money. It was the only time I spoke publically to the Board. Students should have the right to come to a school that is clean, positive, inviting, and not fear for their own safety. Money should never be the issue, especially when the same amount is wasted annually. This book is exactly what it says - a practical guide to use in your schools to determine where the weak links are, what you can do about them, and who can help you. Above all, teach your child to be alert and observe their surroundings. Nuture their own tuition and to take serioiusly their gut feelings when it comes to safety.
