My favorite reference book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Practical Stress Analysis in Engineering Design (Dekker Mechanical Engineering) (Hardcover)
This book is my favorite ME reference book. It includes advanced topics like dynamic response, external pressure vessels, and bolted joint design that are difficult to find covered (other than at the most elementary, approximate level) anywhere else. Chapters on more traditional subjects present material at a deeper level than other sources. In-depth discussion of each topic describes the strong points and limitations of the analysis, and simple design formulae are given for those who don't like complex mathematical derivations. This book should appeal to both people that want an in-depth understanding of advanced stress analysis and those who want to look up an easily-understood formula.
