A key book on Behavioural and Cognitive Techniques, March 20, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (Paperback)
..this book seems ideal as a teaching text for medical students, psychiatric registrars and nurses who wish to learn about behavioural and cognitive therapy. It is simple and practical in its approach, with a rich goldmine of case examples to illustrate the techniques and a minimum of theoretical discussion. It presents cases with sufficient human interest to make the reports lively and memorable, but at the same time the therapeutic message of each case is clearly stated and the technique easily appreciated and learned...this book will succeed because it is lucid, practical and informative, and above all presents behavioural and cognitive therapy as an effective and sensitive approach to the relief of suffering
