Disappointing,

This review is from: Practice Make Perfect: French Vocabulary (Practice Makes Perfect Series) (Paperback)
This is the first "Practice Makes Perfect" book that I disliked. I have the Spanish Volcabulary edition, by a different author, and it is far better than its French counterpart. So much is missing in this book. There are a lot of matching exercises, nothing much with translation or grammar. I hope the author takes a lesson from the Spanish Vocabulary authors and includes a lot more in the next edition of this book. Sorry, but you'll have to skip this one!

Not what I expected...,
This review is from: Practice Make Perfect: French Vocabulary (Practice Makes Perfect Series) (Paperback)
I purchased this book believing it to be for intermediate-level students of French, but most of what this book teaches I learned in my freshman year of high school French; it is definitely geared toward first- and second-year beginners. And while I have found it somewhat useful for basic review and have learned a dozen new words, the book does not contain nearly enough practice exercises. The ones it does contain are generally matching and fill-in-the-blank, and I don't believe these types of exercises help language students remember what they've learned.

The vocabulary was decent, but the exercises were sparse..,

I liked the vocabulary included, but the exercises were insufficient. I wouldn't have minded a somewhat larger book if she included more exercises because we don't know as much French as the author, and we need to see the words in context, the work needs to be more communicative. Matching exercises are not sufficient. I've learned a few words, but I wasn't very motivated to use this book, but I will go through it more because it has some useful vocabulary that I've used.
