Book Description

December 15, 2007
Mergers and acquisitions in China are becoming increasingly relevant to practitioners both in and outside of China as a secondary M&A market in China develops and as an increasing number of global M&A deals have a China component. In addition, there are increasing opportunities for private equity and other financial investors. In this new book, Seung Chong gives a full account of practical issues arising in mergers and acquisitions in China as well as providing substantive commentary on relevant legal principles. He draws together overarching issues such as transaction structure and process, merger control and government approvals while giving references to international practice throughout, resulting in a practice-oriented and extremely accessible text.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you are curious enough about Chinese Laws, here you find what you are looking for, February 24, 2011
This review is from: The Law and Practice of Mergers & Acquisitions in the People's Republic of China (Hardcover)
The translation from Chinese to English is definitely not done by a professional lawyer.
Anyway, if you need a basic reference tool "just to understand" some basic legal concept, this book is good enough and not so difficult to read.
If you are a lawyer... well, this is not for you. Too many imprecision in the legal wording misleading you and your team to misunderstanding. Anyway... be happy: the world is full of Chinese skilled lawyer to give you advice on the issue that concern you more. Keep is a basic reference tool.
