The NNAT®* is a culture-fair, nonverbal measure of reasoning and problem solving abilities. This test does not require English language skills or mathematics, instead consisting of problems that use a complex set of geometric shapes and designs. It is a 38 question test with four types of questions: Pattern Completion, Analogy, Serial Reasoning and Spatial Visualization. This practice test contains 38 questions in the four test areas found on the NNAT®* Level C, which is usually given to students in second grade: Pattern Completion 10 questions Reasoning by Analogy 12 questions Serial Reasoning 11 questions Spatial Visualization 5 questions The object of this practice test is to familiarize your child with the types of questions they will face on test day, how the tests are formatted, and the number of questions in each test area. However, since this practice test has not been standardized with Harcourt Assessment and the actual NNAT* test, a valid NNAT* test score cannot be concluded from their results on this practice test. * NNAT® and Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test® are registered trademarks of Harcourt Assessment, Inc. which was not involved in the production of, and does not endorse, this practice tests.

I received the Level C and D books just 2 days before my learning-challenged 3rd grader took the NNAT test. Obviously we weren't aiming for him to be placed in gifted classes; I just wanted to familiarize him with the test format and get an idea of how he should perform on the test in school. After spending one night on each book, I honestly had no idea what to expect, but that's often the case with my son, so I just waited to see the results. To my surprise, he scored in the mid-to-high-average range, which is a HUGE difference from his usual below-to-low-average verbal test score range. This was a huge boost to my son's confidence, and it helped to show his teachers what he is capable of, given the right tools. I'm a strong believer that everyone does better on tests if they see practice questions beforehand, so I'm sure my son's performance was a combination of natural aptitude AND these practice books. Therefore, I'd suggest these books to anyone whose kids are scheduled to take this test. That being said, the books are very straight to the point, and probably only cost a tiny fraction of the selling price to produce. They're very expensive, so if your local library has them, or if you can buy them used, I'd go that route before buying them brand new.

I can't believe that this book costs what it costs. The input is bare bones, and the print is small. Also, the exercises are useless. What a ripoff.

My son had taken the NNAT exam before and did not score well. This year we used Mercer Publishing's preparation book and scored in the top 8%. My son now thinks he is smart! Well worth the price of the book.
