The Best Book on Writing Poetry Ever,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Practice of Poetry (Hardcover)
This is the best book on writing poetry that you will ever find. I've tried tons of them over the years, and they are all disappointing in the same Mickey Mouse way. But this book is meaty, sinewy, subtantive. Skelton knows how to draw the evocative patterns out of your imagination and get them on paper. One warning, if you are a Christian (I am): Skelton was a witch. It doesn't really show in this book in any way. And besides, "To the pure all things are pure." But I thought it considerate to say so. Otherwise, this book is perfect and indispensible for any serious amatuer/autodidactic poet.
