It describes the process of design from the development of ideas using mark-making techniques through to the production of printed fabric, and shows how to form patterns and make designs repeat so that they can be printed by hand. About the Author
Andrea McNamara is a freelance textile designer with Printintin Design Studio, West Melbourne, Victoria. She lectures part-time in the Textile Design course at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and her freelance work includes several commissions of banners and textile work. Patrick Snelling has worked for several textile companies in England and Australia. He taught at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, for four years and commenced full-time teaching in the Textile Design course at RMIT in 1988. Patrick also designs textiles for Printintin and exhibits regularly.
