I'd advise against purchasing this book unless it's required by your MLS/ MLIS course/ professor.

Unfortunately, that's how I ended up with this book. While the authors approach of compiling the book by using unique case studies is an interesting idea, it ultimately falls flat. The writing styles of the various authors makes for a disjointed reading experience. This book is also hindered by blatant plugs for various third party firms in the Library field. Some of the authors of the case studies used appear to think that reviewing a companies services is synonymous with an independent, critical case study of a component of a special library.
