This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
Disaya "YaYa" Morgan was raised in a loving home, even though her father is a pimp and her mother is his prostitute. They explained their lifestyle to seven-year-old Disaya, but that didn't matter to her because she loved playing with her mother's expensive clothes and Prada shoes. Disaya is an exceptionally beautiful little girl, and because she likes the finer things, her mother advised her to have a plan to get those things, on her own, when she got older.

Disaya's world crumbles when her father is charged for the murder of her mother. Since there are no other relatives, she is placed in a foster care home, where she meets her soon to be best friend, Mona. As if that isn't enough, Disaya is soon raped by the foster care mother's son, she and Mona are subject to sexual abuse for several years; until they are able to escape and live on their own. Disaya is approached to work as a model in an organization known as The Elite. However, she is unaware what The Elite really is and soon realizes she's stepped into a world of sex and deceit.

When Disaya and Indie see each other for the first time, there's an immediate attraction. As they begin to fall in love, Disaya continues to keep her lifestyle a secret, but her Prada Plan is beginning to unravel.

THE PRADA PLAN will hold its reader captive to the very end with drama, lies, sex and a little suspense. This book is the first installment of the Prada series and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow a true literary talent!, April 1, 2009
This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
Wow. That sums this book up in one short quick summary. It was amazing. This young woman is so talented. First, she brings the hotness with JaQuavis in six co-authored books under the pen name Ashley JaQuavis and now she bursts onto the scene solo and swinging harder than ever, to top it all of she's just a baby with her young self. She is truly an inspiration to young girls everywhere. A true talent and Prada Plan solidifies her among the best women in street fiction.

Prada Plan is about Disaya Morgan, poor little YaYa as she is nicknamed. Daughter of an infamous pimp and whore she struggles from a very young age. Her mother put the hustle in her and like mother like daughter she follows in her footsteps by taking to the sheets to make a quick buck. Ya-Ya and Mona join Elite, and these women are elite to the utmost because next thing I know Ya-Ya is having relations with one of Miami's most sought after b-ball players. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but he's a looker and every woman's fantasy, but Ya-Ya snagged that and kept it pushing. Then Leah entered the picture and this chick is loco, psycho, and plain ol' craaaaazy! She has got to be the best villian in a novel that I've ever read about. She's the devil in hot girl clothing and she ruins everything for Ya-Ya,especially her relations with Indie. Indie is a bad boy with a good heart and wants to rescue Ya-Ya from the hood, but her life with elite is a secret and she is getting in deeper and deeper just trying to hide it from him. I could go on forever and ever about this book. I have been waiting on this to drop for a year and it was well worth it. It pulls at your heart, makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you shout "WTF!" This girl knows how to write a helluva story! And the ending! Oh! Goodness it had me going then left me hanging, but I'm not complaining. As many bad street books that I've read in the past year I don't mind a good one that makes me want more. I will be the first in line to get Prada Plan 2! She and JaQuavis are the TRUTH with a capital T and I am a fan for life now. If you do not have this book then you are really tripping because this right here is sure to burn the shelves it's just that hot!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even The Best Laid Plans.....(4.5 stars), April 18, 2009

This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
Ashley Antoinette 1/2 of the dynamic writing duo Ashley JaQuavis releases her first solo project with Prada Plan; which readers got a sneak peek of in Girls From the Hood 4 (Girls from Da Hood) (No. 4). Finally the story is told in it's entirety and readers will not be disappointed.

Disaya's Prada Plan has left her life in shambles and she's struggling to put it back together again. But that's much easier said than done when the love of your life (Indie) thinks that you're responsible for the death of his brother. Not even the fact that she's pregnant with his baby stops the beating that Indie puts on her when her treacherous past is revealed. Will Disaya win back the same heart that she caused to shatter? Especially if that heart has begun to open up to the woman that has vowed to destroy her.

Prada Plan is a quick and immensely satisfying read that not only showcases Ms. Antoinette's literary skills but proves that whether part of a team or solo she can tell one hell of a story!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Prada Plan, July 29, 2011

This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
I would like to have known that the last paragraph in book 1 ended in such away that you HAVE TO purchase book 2 to continue reading and the same thing happened at the end of book 2 so now you have to purchase book 3 to find out how the story ends period! I am wondering if book 3 will wrap things up and actually be the END of the Prada Plan!!! I won't know because it doesn't come out until August 3rd and that is a whole year after book 2 was written. I find that just about everything written by this author has books 1,2,and 3 that you have to purchase in order to get to the end of the story. To me this is a rip-off, setup, to the reader because you are not made aware of this until you get to the end and usually they don't let you know when the next book is coming out and I am finding that most Urban authors are starting to do this and it is a shame. I have decided to stop purchasing from this author and any other author that consistantly does this with their books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let Down, July 12, 2010
This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
It was a really good read, despite a bunch of cliches. The biggest problem that I had with this book is that it was a cliffhanger. It is a huge let down to spend money and time reading a book to have it leave off at the climax. I feel like the author is an awesome writer, and I'm very familiar with her and her partner's work. All in all, I feel like the book was just incomplete, and I probably wont waste my time or money on the sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Devil Wears Prada too..., August 10, 2009
This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
Disaya "YaYa" Morgan was born to Dynasty, the HBIC of a pimp named Slim. Slim and Dynasty are rearing Disaya away from the madness that they profit from, teaching her to love the finer things in life. Tragic events leave Disaya in the hands of the state foster system. While there, she suffers abuse and finds lifelong friend Mona. A strong willed Disaya uses her misfortune as a means to gain fortune and sets off as a trailblazer with Mona along for the ride. Beautiful, sexy, and wise, Disaya and Mona enter the world of The Elite as high priced escorts. They meet Leah, a bi-sexual street smart girl that teams up with Disaya to seek fortune in their own rights. Indie is a kingpin that crosses paths with YaYa, and the magnetic attraction they share reels him in despite her ghetto, materialistic mentality.

YaYa reluctantly relents to perform one more mission with Leah due to her feelings for Indie. Leah's destructive personality erupts, and YaYa finds herself in the middle of a scam that causes her to end their friendship. In the meantime, YaYa and Indie's love grows while waiting the birth of their baby. Karma intervenes, and YaYa's past drama resurfaces and causes her to lose the one thing she loves above all else.

Get your stunner glasses out and get ready for Ashley Antoinette's fabulous debut novel! 5.0 out of 5 stars The NEW Coldest Winter Ever!!, June 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
Prada Plan.

My first read by Ashley Antoinette. I read all the review for this novel, and I added Prada Plan to my cart because I had to know what all the hype was about.

First of all I want to say, this book was SOOOO Good! Well written, storyline will grab hold of you and make you want to laugh, cry and hurt somebody. I have read so many books about lost women, but this novel is the TOP RUNNER!!

Disaya is a beautiful young girl that is placed in the dreaded Foster Care system. The only true friend Disaya knew was her Foster sister Mona. After growing up in a dysfunctional home, Disaya and Mona are now grown women that lack self respect.

They both use their body to get money and men. Living the fast life places both women in a world of twisted events that will hurt them deep down in their soul.

For those who have read this book already ... Leah is a ture Bit$H!!

Ashely is a great writer!! She told the story very well from beginning to the very end. I could not put this book down, every page will have you anticipating for the next.

If you like "Coldest Winter Ever" than this book will not let you down.

I'm a fan!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Prada Plan = The glamourous Life??, May 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prada Plan (Paperback)
This book was sooooo gooood!!! I can't say anything different from what any of the other 35 reviewers have already stated. This book focuses on Yaya whose mother instilled the Prada Plan in her young mind before she died. "Use what you got, to get what you want". Yaya lives by this motto and is trying to do what she has to do to get PAID!!! Everytime it seems like Yaya has good luck..BOOM!!! Something happens and Yaya's life is turned upside down. Yaya goes through many struggles and seems to come out on top when she finds true love with a hustler name Indie. But Yaya' "friend" and business partner Leah ain't having it!

This book was a page turner for sure and I can't wait for the sequel (if there is a sequel). There are so many unanswered questions like why was Leah so crazy and what is going to happen to the baby??
