Patricia A. Martin holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and English education from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska, and a master of arts degree in secondary education reading from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. A widow, mother of two sons, and a grandmother, she is a high school language arts teacher, reading specialist, and publications advisor. She is actively involved in her church.
