4.0 out of 5 stars Folding Wheelchair Ramp
Very well built and sturdy, though somewhat industrial in fit and finish. If you need a folding wheelchair ramp, this one will definitely do the job. We run a 300# power chair over it many times a day without so much as a creak.

3.0 out of 5 stars This ramp will not work for very low thresholds!
I ordered this ramp to make a doorway at church handicap accessible. Unfortunately, the threshold where I need the ramp is only about 1 3/4" high. The description didn't mention the fact that the ramp is made for thresholds 3" and higher. I ordered this ramp to make a doorway at church handicap accessible. Unfortunately, the threshold where I need the ramp is only about 1 3/4" high. The description didn't mention the fact that the ramp is made for thresholds 3" and higher. If your threshold is lower, the braces under the ramp hit the ground and cause the ramp to rock like a see-saw. This is not acceptable. I am returning the ramp and having to pay return shipping. I am impressed by the quality and price of the ramp, but it won't work for my application. It would be helpful if Amazon (or Prairie View Industries) would include in their description the fact that the ramp will not work for thresholds less than 3" in height.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome Portability, December 17, 2008
This review is from: Prairie View Industries Portable Singlefold Ramp (Health and Beauty)
This ramp is a perfect portable access solution for folks in wheelchairs. Many times when I am visiting a friend's home there are entry/exit obstacles. I carry this light-weight ramp in my van at all times. When we need it we just pull it out, unfold it, and the (sometimes very awkward) problem is solved. No one in a wheelchair enjoys being picked up and lifted into someone's house. This product is very well made.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product and arrived very quickly!, May 9, 2009
This ramp is exactly what I needed. We can take it out when my father visits and put it away quickly once he is in the house. Shipping was very fast and it arrived in perfect condition.

I highly recommend this item for anyone who needs to transport someone in a wheel chair but does not want to build a permanent ramp system. My mother is wheel chair bound and this ramp has made it so easy to get her in and out of my house. The lip is solid and rests on the door frame. I can fold it up when not needed as well as move it from front door to garage entrace or deck. As an added bonus, it's great for wheeling heavy furniture out of the house! High quality and durable!!

This was a wonderful solution to a difficult problem It was (after we set up the ramp) very easy to transfer my Mom up the steps to be with us. A great product! Sturdy, light enough to carry, and simple to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for our storage shed!, December 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We had about a 4 - 6 inche step to get into our storage shed. The original thought was going to be build a wooden ramp, but then I saw this ramp. I purchased two so the riding lawn mower and 4-wheelers can fit on them. The work GREAT! The are sturdy and don't creak when things go over them. Plus they are light weight enough that we can store them easily after each use rather than letting them out in the elements (Minnesota weather can be brutal)

I have used this twice. Very portable and sturdy. I use it in loading my mobility scooter to the back of my SUV. I don't ride while loading, either push or use the scooter battery power, very slow speed. Works very well for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for elder care ramp - we use with Sport Utility Vehicle, July 24, 2010

We purchased this little ramp to use as a walkway for an elderly parent - we have a Mercury Mountaineer and she could not longer climb into the front seat.

She can now use her walker and walk up the ramp, turn and sit easily in the vehicle.

It folds and fits into the back of the Mountaineer - we do have to put part of the back seat down to accommodate the ramp length. You must be careful when opening it so as not to scratch the car doors. But, I am a senior age woman and have no problems using this ramp and maneuvering it and loading/unloading it. Of course, I do not have health issues either. The ramp probably weighs 40 lbs or so. It has a handle on the side for easy carrying.

This ramp gives our parent freedom to come and go again. It isn't cheap - but it is well built. The nurses at extended care were all very impressed with it - had never seen anything like it. It is sturdy - will hold 600 lbs. We are satisfied with our purchase and it works very well for the purpose for which it was bought.

It works exceptionally well if you can pull up to a curb and then the incline is much less - but it still works well if used from the ground. We also monitor our parent at all times and hold on to her for safety.

WE DO NOT USE THIS RAMP WITH A WHEELCHAIR OR POWER CHAIR. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RAMP FOR THAT PURPOSE. THE INCLINE WOULD BE MUCH TOO STEEP AND YOU WOULD RISK ROLL OVER. YOU WOULD NEED A MUCH LONGER RAMP FOR THAT PURPOSE.
