2.0 out of 5 stars Rickey is talented on his own, there was no need to bite.
Sigh...Due to recent business and vacation road trips & long days, I have been listening to my share of comedians on CD for the past 4-5 years on a regular basis. I was very disappointed in this CD. Rickey has copied some antics & styles from other well known comedians like the Jerky Boys, Roy D. Mercer and other Prank Call comedians. Copy cat antics are the greatest form...

Try playing this in a room full of people WITHOUT THEM NOT LAUGHING...If they're NOT laughing...There is TRULY something wrong with them! The standout tracks are: "Wilber's Cremation", "Funeral Arrangements", "Pass Me Not", and "My Daddy Over There?". Rickey can only get better in time.

This is one of the most enjoyable CD's that I have purchased. I keep it in my car and play it for unsuspecting passengers. By the time the CD is done, everyone is in stitches with laughter.....Play it when you want a laugh and definetly play it if you had a not so good day at work.....Highly reccomended

This CD is great for some laughs. Be careful about listening to this in the car because bending over the steering wheel laughing is not conducive to safe driving.

4.0 out of 5 stars Prank Phone Call Volume II, December 1, 2006

Funny CD. You really need to start at the beginning and follow his progress. If you want some wholesome laughs, this is the cd for you. Great to share at family gatterings. The cd arrived 9 days after I actually ordered it, but it did arrive. I recommend that if you need it immediately you request priority service.

Copy cat antics are the greatest form of flattery when it is not at a customer's expense! It was obvious that it was the same thing. In one prank, he was calling someone wanting to go to Hawaii and kept saying it- We all know that the 'Hawaii bit' was from the Crank Yankers with the special needs boy calling the travel agency. It was on Comedy Central and is on audio CD. We heard it from them, it was funny, once it is done again by someone else under a guise, it is just dumb. Also, some of the old church lady antics were fine, but it just did not have any punch. They ended with him laughing, but I sure was not and neither was anyone else I know that has heard it.

He also, with little shame it appears, talked about 'whooping someone's ass'- we all know who said that! Roy D. Mercer! 'How big a boy are ya?!" These are classic prank calls that Rickey borrowed the style from, but it did not flow. Comedians should never borrow each other's material. Rickey Smiley is a wonderful stand up comedian and he has an original style that is unique and untampered with, however, this CD delivered few laughs. I will NEVER buy any of his prank CDs again. I was actually embarassed for him, while listening to it! If he thinks that African Americans don't 'cross over' and listen to comedians that are not black, he is sadly mistaken. I do, and that is how I know that he bit another man's style. How pathetic! My husband and I could barely get through it. It was like crickets chirping. If I could get my money back, I would. Don't waste your money on this, instead, buy his standup CDs and dvds. You'll be a heck of a lot happier.
