This book is nothing like the praxis II guidance and counseling exam. You would be better off reviewing your professional association manual, introductory counseling textbooks, and/or general overviews of counseling theories, techniques, and ethics. The practice test in this book was especially poorly written - with typos and incorrect answers - and did not resemble the actual test whatsoever.

This book is not the ETS one, therefore, is not helpful when studying for the Praxis 2. It doesn't even have a cd when part of the exam is a listening section! Don't waste your money. Borrow an ETS version from a friend, or you can buy it on the ETS website. I ended up sending it back once looking through it--Totally not worth it.

If you are taking the Praxis for counseling, my suggestion would be to not buy this book. It would be better to save your money and find ways to study all the major theorist on your own. The majority of the test is practical application. There were so many typos in the book also, that sometimes I wasn't sure what the question was asking or what the correct answer was.

I haven't even bought this book, but my advice would be to skip it. I came to this site looking for a supplement to the ETS guide. There are too many misspelled words in the description for me to feel like this would be an adequate test guide. If you can't be bothered to clear up typos in the description, what on earth is the text going to be like?

I have downloaded the ETS guide, which is about $23. For supplementary material, I'm going back over material in textbooks.
