More About the Author

Joel M. Andre (1981-Present) was born in Cottonwood, Arizona.

From a young age Andre knew his passion was to write tales that shocked and sent chills down the spines of readers. But it was not where he began.

During his teen years he focused his attention to writing poetry in the style of Poe. His work dark often lifted the brow of friends. But the passion was there, and soon the winter wonderland that consumed Lauren Bruni was created.

Fall 2011 will find him releasing a new book called Black Hill Manor.

4.0 out of 5 stars evocative August 26, 2008
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a collection of Joel Andre's poetry. Usually I don't read poetry, but I bought this book at the same time I bought Joel's novel.

The poems are thought provoking. His subjects range from ravens to vampires. Some discuss dying; other discuss love and loss. A couple talk about "the Darkman". My favorite was "Bitter Honey" - it reached deep in me and pulled at my longings, then reminded me what it's all about. Well done!

In spite of a few spelling errors, the quality was good, the poetry was thought provoking, and I'll be sure to leaf through it again. I look forward to more works from Andre!

5.0 out of 5 stars a truly unique book September 26, 2008
By J. Yoon
Format:Paperback
I read all sorts of poetry, but poetry with darker themes have never been a favorite of mine. Nevertheless, I decided that I could give it a try. It turns out that I really like darker-themed poetry- if its as well-written as this collection.

Of course, I didn't like some of the poems, like "Wolf" and "For the Salem Witch" or "Bitterness Ends." But, there were many poems that I thoroughly enjoyed, such as "Alone," "Fragile Mirror," and "The Chase."
The preview of "The price of blood," which is Andre's next book, seemed extremely captivating. I'm definitely going to buy a copy when it gets published!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love Poetry! September 26, 2008
By Deana
Format:Paperback
I am a huge fan of poetry, both from a reader's standpoint as well as a writer's. This is by far the best collection of poetry I have read so far. The author writes poetry with dark topics and subjects . They are just amazing works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind Gripping September 18, 2008
Format:Paperback
This poetry book by Joel M. Andre is very unique, in that, the poetry is about death and dark sides we all have. Some of the dark sides in this book go beyond what most people have! But that is what makes this book so good you cannot put it down. You wonder what the author is going to come up with next.

Joel M. Andre has such a way with words that are pure art. Some of the poems actually gave me chills such as "The Others" and "The Thrill." "Goodbye My Love" had such a surprise ending it stunned me.

My favorite poem is "Ode to Greatness." The author has such a unique perspective on death.

I highly recommend this book whether you love poetry or do not really read it. Either way, you will find this book is brilliant. I have read some of the poems two or three times and find them even more brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not The Usual Poem September 18, 2008
Format:Paperback
When I think of poetry I think of mushy, romantic, make you sick to your stomach poems. Joel Andre's Pray The Rain Never Ends is nothing like that. While some of his poems talk about love and romance, they do not give you the everything is wonderful attitude.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading these poems. They had a sense of darkness to them, but still they made me think about what the author was trying to express through his words.

I will be looking for more poetry by Mr. Andre. His work takes me back to the writings of Poe.
