Up to this point the book has been pretty good. I do not agree with Chapter 4 by Elmer Towns - Healing and Interventional Answers. The parts I don't agree with is that he states that God puts sickness on people and that a person in sin cannot be healed, he says sins must be dealt with before God will administer healing. Not going to go into it but that is not the heart of the Father. There are so many documented healings of God touching and healing people who don't even believe in Him and very much caught up in sin. He says that a sick person must deal with their sins for healing, I thought Jesus did that. He also states that illness is a judgment of God, judgement was satisfied on the cross. According to Elmer there just seems to be alot of striving and doing to get your healing even to the part of having to beg God. He also states it's not God's will to heal everyone, I totally disagree. He said Jesus didn't heal everyone, my translation of the Bible says He did heal everyone, except in His own home town because of their unbelief, he uses some kind of PEB translation for that one. He says to pray for God to effectively use the drugs and or therapy described by a physician, the same with exercise and physical therapy. To me that is putting faith in a man and not God who can completely heal someone without having to use drugs. I was surprised to find this in this book being connected to Beni Johnson and James Goll. This is more of an evangelical view.

In "Prayer Changes Things: Taking your Life to the Next Prayer Level" Beni Johnson, co-senior pastor of Bethel Church, has compiled important secrets from the writings and lives of nine influential Christian leaders recognized for their example, understanding ,teaching, and exercising the power and authority of prayer in their ministry.

Beni Johnson's role as overseer of Bethel's intercessors and Pray House has given her keen insight into many facets of prayer. She discusses the role of personal righteousness in receiving answers to prayer, and gives the reader exciting glimpses into the deep communion, ecstasy, and experienced in the spirit realm by the Mystics, as well as examples of meditation leading to contemplative prayer.

I personally appreciated Don Nori Sr.'s practical lessons on interpreting the scriptures in light of the living word, and, James Gall's discussion on Spirit empowered; Spirit led prayer, directed by the Holy Spirit. He also gave examples of intercessory prayers that plead the promises of God.

The book is formatted with the reader in mind, frequent side bars highlight important truths for ready assimilation and inspirational quotes from classical writers on prayer, including: E. M. Bounds, Teresa of Avila, S. D. Gordon, Andrew Murray, and many others. Suezette Caldwell provides prayers and examples from the scriptures with references, accompanied with exercises assist the reader in drawing from the "Power Source." Mahesh Chavda captures the life-changing benefits of fasting in a study from Isaiah 58.

"Prayer Changes Things" is power packed with practical lessons on "taking your life to the next level of prayer."

From the very beginning of this book I was hooked... The introduction alone is powerful. The compilation of the different authors is one of the reasons I purchased this book and I was not disappointed. If you have the gift of intercession then this is a must read.

We have to remember that changes may not happen right away because the tentacles of darkness, sin and the like are clinging to us... However as we pray or are being prayed for the tentacles will be loosed one by one in the name of JESUS...so we have to keep pushing(P.U.S.H).."Pray until something happens"

I thank God for putting on the heart of Pastor Beni Johnson to put together this book about prayer. My spirit was leaping inside of me with joy while reading this book. I could identify with some chapters more than others but this book came at a critical time for me and has encouraged me too seek the Lord's face through prayer.
