Pastor Jack's classic book, Prayer is Invading the Impossible, is a well-written expose concerning his belief about the relationship of the kingdom of God and the centrality of prayer. This book is not just about prayer. One will be surprised to find all the references to the kingdom of God and God's awesome purposes for believers today. There are ideas about prayer, praying, and being a person of prayer. There are also practical tips and stirring discourses regarding prayer. Although you and I would probably find things we disagree with, it is a great book. I was a little nervous that is would just be another boring devotional book on prayer, but it is far more than that. It is excellent. It will get your batteries charged!

Simply put this is one of the best books on prayer and especially warfare that I have read. Pastor Jack knows this subject well. It is exciting to read how God has given us all a position in Him that can affect real change using the weapons we have been given and learning to stand in faith in our Lord. I recommend this to every Christian who is serious about their prayer life and their relationship with The Savior. In fact the copy I am reviewing is one I bought to give to a friend.

Hayford has a very 70's style of writing in this book. In my opinion it tends to be distracting today, though it may have been helpful when first introduced.
He does provoke many challenging thoughts about prayer which seem to stand up to investigation. I haven't found any statements to be in conflict with scripture as yet. Neither have I seriously experienced Christianity from a charismatic perspective.
If you can get past the writing style, I think this is a good book to prompt investigation into the charasmatic christian experience.

For Christians seeking some depth on the subject of prayer, this is an excellent resource. I purchased it because it was actually quoted from time to time in another study I'm doing on intercessory prayer. I wasn't disappointed.

Jack Hayford's book will inspire and encourage every Christian to pray with more confidence, more faith. I highly recommend it to every fellow believer.

Hayford writes with such insight, tender understanding and a strong Biblical foundation about the power and privilege of prayer! This book helped me believe God's promises to me, to believe God is for me, and that truly, nothing is impossible with God! It helped show God's heart of love for me, and encouraged my faith to believe God!

This is a great book to give to someone struggling with a life-threatening illness, or just for personal encouragement and understanding of how to pray! If you have a group Book Club study, this would be a great one!

While I've heard great things about this book and its author, I truly couldn't make it past the grammar and the poor structure. He tries opening with three separate stories, but they are confusing, and his method of listing needs to be changed, among many other things. This book is apparently on its 4th revision, and, in this case, it truly needs to be revised, not merely reprinted. I couldn't make it beyond the third chapter, so, until this book is edited, I can't really write a true review, but a plea for help from an editor! :(
