Book Description

July 15, 2002
Tony Lindsay returns with a second urban thriller. Disillusioned by his career and devastated by a stupid mistake that ended his engagement, Johnny Lee put away his detective badge and turned to the Chicago streets for some no-strings attached comfort. As a prostitute in Chicago, Pamela Bell's mind was preoccupied with survival. Mary Beth Olsen longed for a normal life and struggled to stay off the streets. Bound by ancestral legacy, desperate pacts and the evil deeds of others, all three must confront emotional fears and physical danger as they attempt to escape their fate and save their lives.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Two sisters separated at birth, a disillusioned cop, a thieving drug addict and the Lord of Darkness all cross paths on one fateful night in Tony Lindsay's gritty urban supernatural suspenser, Prayer of Prey. When crackhead Mike overdoses and dies, Satan resurrects him as an ancient evil warrior king intent on impregnating one of the sisters to inaugurate his reign on earth; it's up to cop Johnny to stop the beastly Brown, even as he finds himself falling in love with one of the witchy sisters.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Book That Keeps You in Suspense!!!, April 5, 2003
By
This review is from: Prayer of Prey: A Supernatural Tale of Suspense (Paperback)
Mr. Lindsay's work can be greatly compared to the likings of Donald Goines and Walter Mosley all wrapped up into one. When I finished reading Prayer of Prey, the first thoughts that came to mind were of the the movie, Devil in a Blue Dress, by Walter Mosley, which was based from the book. So I would not be surprised if Tony Lindsay's work is not brought to life on screen because his writings just leave you wanting more. I am not a suspense thriller reader, but Prayer of Prey was excellent.

I really enjoyed reading Prayer of Prey it was not what I expected it to be. When I found out Tony Lindsay had a new book out I rushed to the bookstore and ordered it and was not dissapointed. The only problem I had was the ending which left you hanging and wondering what happend. But all in all I recommend this book along with One Dead Preacher

5.0 out of 5 stars A Playground for the Devil..., August 4, 2002
This review is from: Prayer of Prey: A Supernatural Tale of Suspense (Paperback)
Tony Lindsay launches another novel that is filled with suspense. In his sophomore book he spins a tale of superhuman phenomenon. Johnny Lee's job is to serve and protect the people of Chicago. On this not so quiet eve his objective is to serve himself with a lovely prostitute named Pam. The night manager at the Brass Palace, a ritzy hotel owes Johnny a favor so he looks the other way and gives them the key.

The next day events spiral so out of control that the only way to explain it would be absurd. Earth became the devils prey, and only a select few had the power and knowledge to fight. Prayer of Prey is a battle between good and evil. If Oka the demon is allowed to plant his seed into the chosen one earth as we know it, it will be consumed with darkness and evil.

The author Tony Lindsay did a wonderful job of using real life characters such as drug addicts and prostitutes and giving them a purpose whether it was good or bad. Allowing them the opportunity to see something different and to dream a little dream. I plan to read future works by this author as he is truly awesome and totally knows how to capture his audience.
