3.0 out of 5 stars Prayers: A communion with Our Creator
This book is all about let bygones be bygones and moving on with life. If you think life treats you unfair, then it's up to you to change. It teaches how to pray and forgive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better than the Four Agreements!, October 25, 2004
This review is from: Prayers: A Communion with Our Creator (Paperback)
"Prayers" is even a better book than the Four Agreements, though the Four Agreements build you a foundation. It is meant to be a book we will read when at the quest of love and peace. The book is meant to be read when you are angry, sad, experiencing fear and judgment. Of course you still need to find other ways to work on your anger, this book simply have the power to help you let go of those nasty thoughts. This book is not meant to be used to suppress/deny the existence of anger and fear, for, we need to accept human has all ranges of emotions. There is no right and wrong for whatever and however we feel things. At the end of the day, we are just saying prayers to let go of the emotional poisons. That is the essence of this book. The words of the book can only be experienced and felt. You cannot use your judgmental mind to think and to understand nor can you try to rush finishing the book. Some books, for example this one, just are not meant for speed reading because you cannot experience the peace the author wants to give you. When you open your heart and feel the power of the words, you experience lots of love and compassion to yourself and others. That is how you want to use this book to open your spiritual eyes and stay there. This book is easy to understand. It is meant to be read again and again, especially during turbulent times where we are most easily to slip back to the judgmental self. I definitely recommend this book to someone who is experiencing some sort of a significant loss in life (whether it is a loved one's death, a lost of job or a loss of marriage). May we all come out from the turbulent times and experience love and care, which help us return to our authentic self - with love and care and without judgment about self and others?

5.0 out of 5 stars A book that rates next to the Bible, August 24, 2004
This review is from: Prayers: A Communion with Our Creator (Paperback)
I went to a spiritual retreat and found this book. I was so deeply touched, I bought and sent copies to my friend in New York. She said, "This book is next to the Bible." She cried and
told me that since her divorce (two yrs. ago) that when she went to bed that night after reading two chapters, she didn't feel lonely; that she felt love and peace in her heart.
I read the Circle of Fire prayer and try to live it everyday.
You can't go wrong with this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is no fluff, this is REAL PRAYER!, April 24, 2002

All of Miguel Ruiz' books I have read until I heard this most recent book was out. The author really transcended all his books this time! This book left me feeling enthralled rather, and that is just what the spiritual states are. You take on this small booklet and it takes you right on to that wavelength by use of his amazingly apt imagery. My intuition kept telling me, "This is it!!!" as I immersed myself into the soul stirring pages. How often does this happen to anyone? What is interesting is all of the words feel more natural than ritual. Felt very real to me and hit a nice nerve.

This is another incredible book by Don Miguel Ruiz. It is a very small book, but it's contents are enormous. It is a book of prayers. Prayers for forgivness, self-acceptance, etc. It is a truely fantastic book. Simple and powerful. I am so greatful for having found Don Miguel Ruiz's books and I thank him for sharing his gifts with a world that so desparately needs them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, January 31, 2002
This review is from: Prayers: A Communion with Our Creator (Paperback)
I picked this up and was drawn in, I was saying out loud yes, yes. I have had a bit of personal downs lately and the reading brought me some very truthful help and see this as helping me spiritually in the long term. A way of prayer with my god, as this read has taught me, simply restored my happiness. I'd have to say that I have tried to forgive others and even bought other books on forgiveness, but nothing brought me that need as this book has. This is just not one more book on spiritual guidance, this rates with the best as it is real, solid, and not a weak reason in it.
If you want another strong read that also deals with overall and personal destiny I strongly recommend a great spiritual book, SB 1 or God by Karl Mark Maddox

5.0 out of 5 stars How does one rate true prayer?, March 9, 2007
This review is from: Prayers: A Communion with Our Creator (Paperback)
With reverence, at the very least! I came to this book after the author's 4 Agreements and found the prayers and guided meditations here very effective as I learned meditation and began to deepen my spiritual practice. It doesn't matter which denomination or religion you claim to belong to, because these truthful, poetic insights and encouragements transcend labels and unnatural boundaries. It is as if Ruiz discovered a coven of saintly horses who taught him these golden words. Read and recite these prayers and meditations like that, like you're reading and reciting poetry, and you will feel it, yes. You will feel transformed as your skin tingles, as all of your senses awaken to the wonderful world we share!

--Robert McDowell, author of the forthcoming Poetry In Spiritual Practice

This is a beautifully written book. I have read alot of spiritual books. This one I couldn't put down, read it in one sitting. The Prayers at the end of the chapters are wonderful and the Circle of Fire Prayer is life changing. Some books I read and then recycled, but this one is a keeper. Thank you Don Miguel Ruiz for another great book!! Love and Blessings to all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading & re-reading, January 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Prayers: A Communion with Our Creator (Paperback)
I enjoy this book very much, as I do all of don Miguel Ruiz's books. Each one is a treasure to be read and re-read.
I take Prayers with me when I travel.
Miguel's prayers, like his teachings, are profound yet elegantly simple and to the point. And that's exactly what suits me best.
