A Beautiful Gift for Anyone, March 23, 2007
This review is from: Prayers for Emotional Wholeness: 365 Prayers for Living in Freedom (Hardcover)
Know someone who is struggling? This book of prayers would make a really kind and thoughtful gift. Get 2, so you can keep a copy for yourself. There are several prayers for each of 24 different themed sections, so even if one isn't what the reader needs, another probably is just right. Since you can't "search inside the book" as of the time of this review, I'll list the sections here:
When I Need to Be Free of Anxiety and Depression
When I Need to Be Liberated from Loneliness
When I Need to Be Delivered from Fear
When I Need to Be Rescued Out of Trouble
When I Need to Resist Temptation and Live God's Way
When I Need to Forsake Anger and Gain Patience
When I Need to Forgive and Get Free of the Past
When I Need Hope and Joy in My Heart
When I Need to Be Free of Guilt and Condemnation
When I Need Deliverance and Restoration
When I Need to Renew My Mind
When I Need Victory Over My Enemy
When I Need Help in Tough Times
When I Need Comfort and Guidance
When I Need a New Attitude
When I Need Peace and Contentment
When I Need More Love in My Life
When I Need Greater Faith
When I Need to Speak Life
When I Need to Stand Strong in Times of Weakness
When I Need to Remember Who I Am in Christ
When I Need Help in My Relationships
When I Need to Feel Close to God
When I Need to Understand My Purpose and My Future
Here are the first two lines of the introduction:
"God's purpose for our lives is to make us whole--which is the way He created us to be--and then to work through us for His glory as we surrender our lives to Him. Emotional wholeness means living without negative emotions and having peace about who you are and where your life is headed."
This book of prayers is a very helpful tool for those who are stressed in any way and perhaps have a little difficulty with knowing what to pray.
There is a nice dedication page at the front of the book to write in names (to and from) with the date and 3 lines for a message.

Great Help When You Don't Have the Words, August 4, 2008
This review is from: Prayers for Emotional Wholeness: 365 Prayers for Living in Freedom (Hardcover)
I love this little book and use it every so often when I need to have a talk with the Lord but can't seem to put my feelings into words. Stormie has obviously experienced these emotions personally. I can always find a prayer that relates to my real-life situation. Often, something she's expressed inspires me to add something in my own words. I recommend it highly.
