5.0 out of 5 stars An extraordinary book by an extraordinary man, May 2, 2007
This review is from: Praying in the Cellar: A Guide to Facing Your Fears and Finding God (Voices from the Monastery) (Paperback)
Fr. Anthony is a singular man and for those who can't make it to the Monastery to one of the retreats he gives, any of his books are good. I would recommend this one and "What Makes a Cistercian Monk?" - a collection of his talks to the monks while he was Superior of the Monastery. Because of his contact with the Lay People who come to the Monastery, he has a down-to-Earth writing style that's easy to follow. He also gives good advice about finishing what is in front of you before you start Contemplative Prayer so you won't have distractions and won't get discouraged. He has a gift for speaking from his humanity to other's. A good read.
