. . . to a powerful body of work. Eugene Peterson is clearly the best Christian writer I've ever read. Here, Peterson will lead you to explore the words of Jesus with brief commentary.

Praying with Jesus: A Year of Daily Prayers and Reflections on the Words and Actions of Jesus

This book is excellent. In a short time Eugene Peterson helps one focus on the word giving insight to a passage of the New Testament, making connections to prior and upcoming events, and then of challenges us to critically think about the messages in the bible with a question. Each daily lesson ends with a prayer. There is a mini-bible study lesson every day of the year and coded as such; for example today's date is December 8th so I would just turn to that page. It is great for people on the go. You can leave it by your bedside and get so much out of the daily lesson(s) with just a few minutes of your time

I feel sharing the Jesus' heart and mind with Him...Everyday, through the help of this book. When I read the Bible, I focused on the event,theme, or things to be learned. But reading Peterson's book, "Praying with Jesus:A Year of Daily Prayers and Reflections on the Words and Actions of Jesus", I feel Jesus to near me than I think, and experienced. Why don't you try to pray with Jesus...? Soon I will get one more book for giving my friend... (I will say thanks to Eugene Peterson.)

This "book" is just excerpts from Peterson's books. This is not an origional work as I thought. Also, the readings are rather short and not too helpful. I only read a few days before I got tired of reading second-hand material. the other thing that disappointed me was the size...the "book" is small and not held together well. In my few days of reading, the pages began to fall out. Save your money and get his other books, you will be better off.
