More About the Author

I read just about everything. I would rather not write a review than give a review less than 5 stars. If it is truly a bad book, I usually can't finish it and it goes in the trash can. In all my life of reading I have thrown away about 5 books. A bad book in my opinion is a book that doesn't make sense. It is where the writer jumps around and there are too many ramdom thoughts or conversations and the story is hard to follow. I dislike when reviewers give bad reviews because they don't like the lifestyle of the characters in the book. I think that not liking the characters in a book does not mean it was a bad book. I don't like blueberry pie. I don't think that means that others won't like blueberry pie. I also don't like when reviewers tell what the story is about or their version of what the story is about. Which is why, when I review a book, I only tell why you should read it. I am not going to go into the characters or the plot. There is enough editorial stuff written when the book is posted for you to know whether or not you want to read the book. I wish only happy reading moments to one and all.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Brilliant Set of Books!!!, September 28, 2007
By

This review is from: Praying 101 for Kids & Teens (Paperback)
It's true what the author says "No one is really taught how to pray... only how to memorize a few really good prayers." These books take the guessing out of what works and what doesn't work and why some prayers are answered and why it appears some prayers aren't. This is one of a set of 5 books. There's a book for everyone... The entire set consist of Praying 101 for Parents, Praying 101 for Kids & Teens, Praying 101 for Men, Praying 101 for Women and Praying 101 for Spiritual Enlightenment. Each book contains approximately 75 customized prayers. There's a prayer for pimples in the Kids & Teens book.... wish I knew that one when I was younger. There's a prayer for removing guilt in the Spiritual Enlightment book. There's a prayer for Good Judgment in the Men's book. There's a prayer for your childs safety in the Parents book. There 's a prayer for a shopping addiction in the Women's book. Truly a must have for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars I WISH I HAD THIS WHEN I WAS A KID..., November 23, 2009
This review is from: Praying 101 for Kids & Teens (Paperback)
When I was growing up, I wish I had a book that had nearly 100 prayers that were custom made for me. From acne to peer pressure to forgiveness, I believe I would've been able to overcome a lot of self consciousness and self doubt. This book is a GEM! There is a prayer for every single issue a kid/teen is faced with throughout their school years, and prayers that will carry them through for the rest of their lives. While reading it, I felt a calm wash over me that was palatable; I actually began to feel lighter and full of gratitude and joy. Dottie Randazzo's choice of words have the ability to permeate the conscious mind and go deep into the sub-conscious to connect with pure joy and love for oneself and others. PRAYING 101 FOR KIDS AND TEENS offers something I have never seen before, and that is the way Dottie begins each prayer with words that the reader can try on. Whether it is to God, Lord, Goddess, Father, or Masters of the Universe, the author lets the reader know that prayers are heard no matter whom you address them to. I can't think of a better holiday gift for young people, and I would highly recommend the other books in the author's Praying 101 series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where was this book when I was a kid?, November 13, 2009
This review is from: Praying 101 for Kids & Teens (Paperback)
This prayer book could have changed the course of my life! Fortunately it is never too late to learn how to pray effectively and with right motives. An adult could benefit from using the prayers in this book, but it is geared toward children and teenagers. The prayers in this book are some that any parent would love to hear their child pray.

What parent wouldn't want their child to pray for good grades, true friends, good judgment, good health for self and others, safety on the Internet, or to have better communication with parents, and wisdom to resolve conflicts? Dottie puts it on the level with kids and teens using examples of things teens might want or ask for. Sounds great so far, but it gets even better.

Addressing such issues as pimples, braces, glasses, lost pets, popularity, bad hair days, passing a test, being the new kid at school, winning at sports, waking up on time, and getting a date for prom night, Praying 101 for Kids and Teens meets the everyday needs for this unique age group. But there are more serious issues that kids face and need divine help in resolving. This book has a specific prayer for kids dealing with anorexia/eating habits, low self-esteem, anxiety or panic attacks, drug addiction, step-family issues, breaking up with a girl/boyfriend, gang involvement, divorcing parents, abusive relationships, and teen pregnancy. Each simple and practical entry can be read as a prayer to manifest the highest and best outcome in any situation.

Who should kids to pray to? God, Goddess, Higher Power, Lord, Father, Masters of the Universe, Saint, Angels--it doesn't matter. This book is non-denominational. I could see Christian or Pagan parents recommending this book to their kids. I plan to give a copy to my nine-year-old grandson. Why wait until a child has problems to teach him how to manage life from a spiritual vantage point?

The book is jammed-packed with powerful prayers to help kids find courage to stand up for themselves, and wisdom to know when and how their prayers are being answered.
