If you are looking for a devotional that points you to God, focuses you on who He is, look no further. This book revitalized my daily quiet time. Isn't the point of our quiet time, drawing near to God? What better way to get to know Him than to focus on His name, which shows us who He is. I have been using the book for over a month and many of the names of God come to mind as I begin my daily devotional, or through out the day. God is not some far off cosmic being, He is El-Shaddai, El-Elyon, Elohim, Jehovah - Jireh, and so much more as this book will show you. This is a book every Christian seeking to know who God is should have on their bookshelf. It will help you come to know God more intimately.

In one word: WOW !!! A Must-read for all Christians. Each page made me thirsty for more. Read slowly to savor every sentence. I didn't want the book to end. Again, WOW !!!

It is what we all need before we start the day. The book is easy to read and very inspirational. I highly recommand it to all who desires to feel God's blessing before your days starts.

The book is quite to the point and very clear and understanding the significant names of Jesus. The perspective is historical and cultural in nature. The language is concise and lucid. It is a great introduction to the MASter without preaching...a great read.

Seeking a new view of Jesus? Seeking a closer relationship, a more intimate understanding of the Savior who chose you? Needing a refreshment in your spirit, a revival in your heart, a gust of air for a dying or flickering spiritual fire? This is the book for you. Ann Spangler put her heart into the writing of this book. And just as God does he allowed circumstances in Ann's life (as discussed in the Introduction) to test her heart knowledge of these names and the meaning of them in her life, applied to her heart. So this book is not just a woman telling another the head knowledge of these names, but a woman writing from the heart the meaning of these names or titles revealed in scripture.

I believe this book is life changing when approached with an attitude of worship, a heart anxious to hear the Father's whisper, a life surrendered to His will. Each of the 26 names discussed is set up as a week long study. I love this because for 7 whole days you focus on one amazing title and come to know Jesus in that roll. The first day is the introduction with scripture and meaning. Days 2-4 are days with devotionals, 5-7 more study and contemplation about what that name/title means in your life and how it is applicable to you.

Coming face to face with the Savior demands response. A most powerful and compelling book.

Great book! So important to know the various ways we can address our Savior. and adds a whole new dimension to your prayer and devotional life.

I've only read a couple chapters but i have a feeling it's going to be GREAT! SO far the info i've read has been eye-opening and fresh. If your wondering if you should get this book the answer is...YES! But it's your choice...really. Have a great day!

I just gotten hold of this book and I have been blessed doing the devotional each day..It's just a wonderful way to know my Lord better through the names He is known for. as for an earlier review about an error on page 29,

"This is the Prayer she had in her book I believe she meant well, but alas this is an error and we all must be careful especially as writers:

Lord, how strange it must have been to enter the world as the only sighted man and to encounter a world so enshrouded that people could not see your light.

Oh they saw the light but there were some that desired the darkness more than the light.
When you are in a dark room you can't help but notice when a light gets turned on my friend or should I say thee light comes walking in!"

Unfortunately,the reviewer did not mentioned what the writer wrote just a few lines away...."Forgive me for my self imposed blindness" which is so true..Many people in days of Jesus, did not see Him as the Saviour because they just simply refuse to believe for various reasons. It was self imposed unbelief...I believe the reviewer holds a high esteem for our Lord but just like writers, reviewers must also be careful to first understand what we are reviewing by reading carefully.

This is a really great user-friendly book. I have really enjoyed using it to learn and meditate more on the names of Jesus.

I ordered this book to go along with a study on Quilting the Names of Jesus. The book arrived in used but great condition for what I needed. A great study for anyone looking to get a little closer to Jesus.
