This is an excellent book! It is filled with story after story of succesful intercessory prayer that brought prodigals home. I bought this book after watching my son go through a major battle with drugs and alcohol. I was at my wits end and felt desperate and hopeless. This book helped me do the only thing that I should and could do and that was to pray. Although I bought the book because of my son the book features chapters on all the many prodigals we may love: our parents, neices, nephews, or just those who touch our lives and we care deeply about. I am happy to say my prodigal is home! He is celebrating 9 months free of drugs and alcohol and has re-committed his life to the lord. This is a wonderful faith restoring book and a must read for anyone who has a struggling loved one.

If you suffer the pain of having a prodigal in your life, then read this book. And get one for every other person that is directly involved in your prodigal's life. The victory stories, the scriptures and prayers are all an incredible encouragement to this mother's aching heart. I am once again filled with hope and expectancy for the day my son will "come to the end of himself and return to his father's house from the far country."

What a beautiful book that inspires parents to pray for their children more fervently. I love the stories, they gave me such hope of what a loving, powerful God can do in the lives of our children we pray for. I also look forward to starting a "mothers" prayer group in my church. Many families are battling heartbreaking situations with their children. We indeed serve a loving God who loves families and will bring us safely through the storms with our children. Thank you Quin and Ruth for this beautiful book that offers help and healing for our prodigals. God bless you both!!!!

This book is akin to a book that I just authored, but it takes a broader look at different types of prodigals. The stories offer hope for anyone who is dealing with a prodigal and knows the deep hurt and pain caused by them. I agree that there is no greater power on earth than prayer, and these stories illustrate that God has a heart for prodigals and doesn't give up on them, especially when we keep bringing them before Him. This was how I dealt with my prodigal who finally returned home. I like that the author understands that often those who have a call on their life at a young age are particularly vulnerable to wandering--that was my son's story. I like the author's compassionate and easy reading writing style and recommend this book for parents of prodigals.

Many parents are heart broken to watch children walk away from family values and the faith that they were taught as children. This book not only provides hope and encouragement but solid guidance as to how to approach the throne of grace, seeking God's face in restoring the prodigal to the family circle of love.

I will be honest and say that I haven't read the whole thing. I bought this book for my mom after searching for a book for quite awhile that might help her in her struggle to keep prayer for my brother (who has been a prodigal for many years now) without seeing real results. She has read me excerpts though (which I've completely agreed with) and her outlook has completely done a 180. She is so much more peaceful now and more committed than ever to keep praying even when you don't see something happen. She doesn't stress at every little piece of bad news about him and knows that she isn't alone in the struggle to have a child go down a bad path in life. After she is done reading it for like the third time I'm sure I'll read it too.
I definitely would recommend this to anyone who has a child or family member who is considered prodigal (whether they've just left the church or are into drugs, alcohol, etc as well) that they have been praying for whether it has been for months or years.

This book has been an amazing help to me in praying for my childrens return to the Lord and the others salvation. It has equipped me w/the Word to apply to all these situations and the power of these testimonies as a weapon is more profound than I can express.
