Many of us know how to say the prayers we were raised on. To often we get in the habit of saying the same prayers and the meanings are almost lost in the memorization. Jodie Berndt has written a beautiful book on how to put incredible meaning behind your prayers. She has done an incredible job of learning the scriptures and using them in a powerful way to talk to God. This book is very inspirational. It is filled with humor, love and a true sense of how we can make our prayers more meaningful and personalized. It teaches us not only how to pray for our children, but also how to pray in our daily lives as well. Bravo! Jodie Berndt!

My copy of this book has so many "dog ears" from places I've marked and highlighted pages. It is just in poor condition because it's been with me to a lot of places ... I slip it in my bag to take with me lots of times, and I've read it in the bathtub many times (one of the few places I can have some quiet time from my three gifts from God!). So my book is worn, has water spots on it and the binding is almost coming lose. But it still works!

I have also bought this book numerous times for friends and baby showers.

One of the most encouraging parts of the book is the scripture prayers at the end of each chapter with fill in the blanks for your child's name. The book is divided into sections - how to pray for your kids' teachers, how to pray for your child in crisis, safety, and how to pray for your child's faith and character. Great stuff.

I'm a mother and grandparent and I truly enjoyed this book. It covers nearly every area of concern that a parent may have for her child. At times, we all repeat the same prayers for our little ones (or adult children) .... keep them safe, comfort them, guide them, etc. This book provides scripture and encourages one to search the scripture to pray by using the actual words from the Bible. When an appropriate verse is prayed, you insert the name of the child you are praying for instead of using just the given pronouns in the verse. So simple, and yet a profound way of praying.

This has been my best investment as a mom (...) they can all use this wonderful tool to pray for their children AND mine. From the very beginning of this book I learn so much that is so helpful to parenting. How to recognize your child's gifts from God has been so eye opening and I have printed the prayers that pertain to my children and I use them daily to pray for their lives. It has made a huge difference in my daily life just incorporating this into my every day routine. I recommend this book to mothers of all ages and it is even a wonderful gift to give to anyone expecting!!!

As a working mother of a 5 and 1 year old I hardly have time to read. I couldn't put this down. This is the best book ever written with examples every parent can appreciate. This book isn't just for moms...dads, grandparents, teachers, etc. can all find use for this book in their library. You will not only read this one, but it will be a reference book forever!

This book has literally changed the way I view praying for my children. There is so much to pray for and it's all broken down for you in short chapters with specific scriptures to pray for that topic. If you want specific things to pray for and verses to help guide you...this is the book. It's by far the best book on this topic I've ever read!

This book has become my number 1 Bible resource. The fact the I can pick a topic by chapter, turn to the end of that chapter and just pop names into the blanks in the verses makes it so easy to pray God's word for my children. I use it for others, too. When I started my moms group at church it was the first book on our list to read. I have heard nothing but rave reviews. It is a truly incredible book.

This book is an excellent way to begin praying passionately for the hearts and lives of your children. In the few short weeks that I've had it, I have already seen God respond to my prayers. God has also used this book to reveal parenting truths to me. He has done this b/c I am directly reading his word and relating it to my child's life and my relationship with my child. It has also helped me while correcting my child. When I pray with my son after correcting him, I am no longer using generic prayers; I am praying with him the same prayers I am praying in private. I love that! It feels much more authentic to correct him with the same prayers that I use to petition God's throne on his behalf.
