5.0 out of 5 stars Encouragement and hope, January 26, 2007

This review is from: Praying Through Cancer: Set Your Heart Free from Fear: A 90-Day Devotional for Women (Hardcover)
I am a 37 year old that has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. A good friend of mine found this book and gave it to me. I can't begin to tell you how comforted I feel while reading through these pages. God is speaking to me through these words and whispering that He is right here with me on this journey. I still have my moments when I feel scared, but when they hit, I reach for "Praying Though Cancer" and in moments I feel His presence and all of the comforting words of women who have been through this before me. God Bless you for such a beautiful book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A comforting book through hard times, November 3, 2008
I highly recommend this book for any woman going through a cancer diagnosis. Each daily devotional, written from a solid christian perspective by women who have undergone treatment for cancer, starts with a daily entry about living with a cancer diagnosis, a prayer, a daily tip and scriptural references.

This book has been an anchor and comfort for me during my treatments of two cancer diagnosis'. It is my "desert island" cancer book.

Cancer is an insidious disease, But God is greater than that.

Get this book! It will ease your suffering greatly and keep you in the word of God where there is healing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excatly What She Needed, August 6, 2009
My sister was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 30th, 2009. Slated for a 30 day hospital stay- I sought out books to keep her mind off of things. The mornings are the most difficult for her, when she wakes and realizes she has to battle yet another day. I got her this book for the mornings, hoping it would give her the spiritual muscle to get through another day.

She starts every morning reading one or two devotionals and I've noticed a marked resurgence in her attitude. She won't be 100% for a while- but I'm positive that this book was exactly what she needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, April 12, 2009
I am a 64 year woman old in the middle of chemotherapy treatment for lymphoma. A dear friend gave me this book... he just "happened" to be walking in the woman's section of his church's bookstore and saw it there and thought of me. I have gone through the book of short but deep devotionals once and am starting again. It has been so comforting and encouraging; really speaking to my heart. There is something for me to relate to on just about each and every page. I guess you really can't know unless you've been there and I am so thankful that these many women who have "been there," chose to share their prayers and stories to encourage the rest of us. In fact, I received two of these books as gifts and am looking for the right person to give the extra copy to. Thanks to these writers and to the LORD for inspiring them and us.

This review is from: Praying Through Cancer: Set Your Heart Free from Fear: A 90-Day Devotional for Women (Hardcover)
I am 47 yrs old and was diagnosed with a brain tumor almost two years ago. I just found this book about a month ago and have appreciated every story, prayer and thought. I have found myself in most, if not all, of the moments described and have come to many of the same places as all of these women. My one regret is that I didn't discover this sooner. I will give this book to everyone who finds themselves in these circumstnces, whether they experience it themselves or through someone they love. The book is diverse, relevant, to the point and insightful.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the lonely hours of the night., September 29, 2008
This book will be a wonderful aid in helping all of us with any form of cancer to get us through those long wakeful hours of the night. Read a chapter (only a couple of pages) and think of what God is telling us from both His word and people's testimonies. He can help you too!

My wife, asked her freind, who has cancer. "What has helped you"? She told her about this book.

We have given this to others with cancer and they all say it has helped their heart be set free from fear.

If you know anyone who has cancer, this is the book to get.

This is a wonderful devotional for those who have been diagnosed with cancer. As a Christian, I still struggled with immense fear after my diagnosis. This book was easy-to-read, bite sized thoughts and prayers that truly encouraged me. I highly recommend this for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer!
