1.0 out of 5 stars I'd entitle this review OMG! but that's kinda the problem...
I'm happy to report that thanks to this book, I now know where to find "Satan's stronghold". Yep, and also thanks to this book I'm now familiar with the concept of the "10/40 Window", which is a really great way to avoid sounding intolerant or even racist.

But the most horrific thing to consider is that this book, through no fault of it's own, was included...

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Companion to Praying Through the Window III, April 6, 2000
This review is from: Praying Through the 100 Gateway Cities of the 10/40 Window (Paperback)
This book focuses on the major urban centers in the 10/40 window. The background and statistical informaton for each city (including unreached peoples) is laid out in easy to read format. A map is also provied for each city and can help one keep the city in perspective. Specific prayer requests are listed for each city. I have found this book to be an excellent companion book to Praying Through the Window III: The Unreached Peoples. Using these books in tandem will not only make your prayer life more focused, but will also give you a deeper appreciation for other peoples around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource for geography, for prayer., May 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My kids love this book, as do I... It is a great follow up for older children to You Can Change the World: Learning to Pray for People Around the World (Volume II). My children are very familiar with the countries of Africa and Asia, which are often neglected in history studies in the US, in part because of praying for people around the world.

But the most horrific thing to consider is that this book, through no fault of it's own, was included in my 5th grader's "Social Studies" curriculum. This book has one purpose - to introduce the reader to the biggest cities in the region and how best to approach the people in each of those cities to explain how screwed up they are because they aren't like you. Not the message I'd like for anyone to read and certainly not what I'd want to put in front of a child.
