5.0 out of 5 stars Monster Hook's are hard to find
I own 3 monster hooks and recently i broke one. I went back to home depot to purchase another one and they no longer carry them. Which realy had me worried because the monster hook is one of my favorite tools. This thing has saved me so much time, it's irreplaceable. I'm very glad i've found this page.

2.0 out of 5 stars Get a Bigg Lugg!
This "Monster Hook" is made mainly of plastic and aluminum, the plastic tends to break too easily. Sometimes the rivet pulls through the plastic, sometimes it just breaks in half. I've been wanting a Bigg Lugg, as it's all metal, but I cant find one locally, I guess I'll have to order one. Both are the same price, one is ust made better than the other.

I purchased one of these after reading about a contractor that made one out of a bucket handle. It works very well for holding your 18V Makita, nailer, or whatever other tool that fits in or over it. For you DeWalt fans, it will match your drill, maybe even your pickup. My advice is to buy two; one for each side of your tool belt. I wish I had!

I bought a monster hook on a whim, and fell in love with it. I use it to hold my Dewalt cordless screwdiver and drill while I am working. It clips right to your belt and holds your tool right where it is handy. If you have to stop to reposition something, you just slide the tool onto the hook, and it is right there when you are ready to continue waht you were doing. When you're not using it, it just rotates flush to your belt so it is out of the way. It is SOOOOOOOO handy.

would not work without this clip!! keeps your gun at hand while on the ladder and keeps you from looking for it when you need to use it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Werner Tool Lasso is better., March 30, 2007

I've used the Monster Hook with 18V cordless drills and with various nailers. With the drills it works alright and definitely beats trying to juggle the drill while up on a ladder. Nailers are a different story. The hook is too small to get the nailer on and off easily. I've tried positioning the hook at both front and back of the nailer grip and have problems getting the nailer to easily come back off of the hook.

Additionally, the sheet steel belt clip is a little flimsy. If you catch the suspended tool on something you are likely to bend the belt clip.

While in Lowe's the other day I spotted a device called the Tool Lasso made by Werner Ladder Company. They use a strong elastic band that goes around the tool grip. There is a plastic ball on the band that engages a socket clip that goes on your tool belt. I bought a two-pack to try and quickly decided that this is a much better solution than the Monster Hook. The ball slips easily into and out of the socket when you manipulate the tool yet the tool doesn't fall out unexpectedly. Also, you can buy additional bands to leave on each of your tools. Similar in price. Hopefully someone will sell these on Amazon.
