I am a medical/clinical hypnotist and use these headphones during sessions with clients allowing clients to listen to background music while I speak through a microphone. This process allows for more privacy and keeps the client's attention focused on the session. I received a complimentary set of these headphones when I set up my office, and immediately purchased three additional sets for when I work with small groups.

I have found the Presonus headphones to work great. They fit entirely around the ear which helps shut out any background noise, and seem to fit easily around earrings and ear jewelry.

The drawback, but I think you will encounter this with any headphone that fits around the ear, is that after about 1 hour, the client may experience sweating around the ear ... other than that, they have worked great.

Great product. The sound is awesome. I don't see myself using any other recording headphones when i record my music.

In case you want these without the PreSonus logos and for less money, they seem to be the same as Superlux HD681

I got these on sale for thirty bucks. For that price you can't go wrong, I don't care who you are or what material you listen to. Upon opening the box you will notice they are well packaged and as soon as soon as I pulled them out of the box, light weight and flimsy are the first two things that came to mind. I have somewhat big ears and they completely enclose and seal my ears with room to spare, however they are in no way too big. They feel very comfortable, partly do to the light weight. After a very long three hour session they did begin to feel slightly uncomfortable due to the clamping force. They can be flexed by hand in a way to make them squeeze a little less and that did help. As for the sound quality, fantastic! I use these for mixing when I want to hear my mix on something else to compare to my monitors or if I'm doing some late night mixing and need to keep the noise down. They have a very flat response and can take everything I throw at them. I produce/mix mostly electronic music, Dubstep, DnB, etc... and if I low-shelf these ~+2.5db @ 150Hz then I get an extremely accurate representation of what I'm going to hear in my car for example. At the normal selling price of around sixty bucks I might just go ahead and spend another forty to get Sennheiser HD380 instead. What I don't like about these is that the cable is not replaceable (-1 Star). For the price I paid, it's really a non-issue, but as I mentioned if they would have been their regular selling price, I probably would have spent a little more for the HD380's which are sealed (these are semi open) and also have a replaceable cable. One last thing to mention regarding the semi-open design is that I expected to hear quite a bit more ambient noise and it wasn't the case. Besides, once the music is going ambient is not even an issue.Read more ›

These are the twin brother of Superlux HD 681 and, just like their counterpart, they are the king of low budget cans. For mere 50$ you get a pair of headphones with sound that can match those with 2-3x higher price...incredible value.

They are very sturdy, much more than they look, very flexible. Easy to adjust, they sit nicely on my small-ish head...those with large heads might need to stretch them out a bit before using. They do tend to get slightly uncomfortable during long listening sessions, mostly due the faux-leather earpads on them. That is, however, easily fixed by replacing those with AKG K240 compatible velour earpads that can be found cheap. The cable is long enough and tough but, sadly, cannot be detached. All in all, light and well built headphones.

The build is their greatest strength, however, it's the sound. HD7 are semi-open headphones so they have nice, wide soundstage, they perform great in games and sound has enough space to shine. That also means that the sound "leaks" out of them so if you don't want for other people to hear the same stuff that you do, look for a closed pair of headphones.
These have very neutral sound, a bit warm maybe, with nice mids and LOVELY bass. I have a Sony MDR-XB700 heaphones that are bass monster and while XB700's bass extends very deep, I really prefer the bass of HD7 because it's deep enough but not muddy, and much better defined and punchy. I just love that bass...
As for highs, they are clear, crisp, detailed...but they tend to get overly bright. Not always, but you tend to pick that up after some time listening. It's not that annoying, thankfully, and it can be dealt with via equilizer or filter mods that can be found on internet.
They are easy to drive and sound very nice out of the box.

I bought to use at our church. These are very comfortable and light weight. They are large but that is what I wanted, they fit around the ears not on them. The cord is long which is nice.

I really like the clarity of these headphones, there not as isolated as I would like but they can get loud without sounding harsh. There is a similar cheaper model on the market which I will try and compare the two, thus the 4 stars. The attached cable is thicker than regular headphones which is a nice feature. It doesn't tangle and the only real complaint I have is that the 1/8th to 1/4" is a screw on type.

Update: After a few sessions these are very transparent and feel comfortable during those long sessions without fatigue. Another problem is they tend to ride up during play making it a bit awkward. I did put these side by side with Sennheiser HD380's, and HD210's. These actually held their own. These are also good with Electronic Drums as they produce a full sound allowing you to hear what's going on with your samples. Mixing with these so far has been good, as I only reference with these.
