3.0 out of 5 stars Why the "New" anti-Semitism is an attack on America.
The "New" anti-Semitism, the author argues, is an attack not only on Jews , but on America as well. Yes, there is a "conspiracy," between America and The Jews, Mr. Timmerman acknowledges, but it's not the one that 'Preachers of Hate' see; rather, it's called "shared values, a common heritage," and "tolerance of differences: a conspiracy of Freedom." the "absolute and...

This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
Kenneth Timmerman has gone to a lot of work to complete this book as can be seen through all his interviews with top Islamic sages, and "moderates" of the Muslim world. Not only will the reader be astounded by the sheer irrationality of the virulent hatred that spreads from these self-professed "intellectuals", but it will also come to be understood how this unfathomable hatred of the Jews and of the U.S (Which is seen as a Bastion of Jewish control)has been indoctrinated to the susceptible minds of Islamic youth.

Although the book is slightly biased against the Islamist world, Timmerman makes it clear on many occasions that true Islam has been hijacked by Islamic fundementalist terror groups - Hamas, Hezbollah, Jammah Islamiah, Al Qaeda, other Wahhabi backed terrorist organizations - whose one goal in mind is to make every citizen of this Earth a Muslim.

Timmerman irrevocably dispells the myth that Jew-hatred in the Middle East is something of a modern day phenomenon. He covers events which occured in Damascus in 1845, in which Jews again were the targets in massive pogrom-like raids, with tens of them being murdered.

For anyone who would like to truely find out for themselves the extent of Jew-hatred among the left and the Islamic world, this is definitely a book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Medicine, October 16, 2004
By

This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
This book skillfully and thoroughly characterizes anti-Israeli propaganda, not only in the Middle East but also in Europe and the United States. It is an impressive recounting of the author's coming to grips with the nearly surreal racism, irrationality, and hatred he discovered among segments of the Arab world. Everyone ought to read this book to realize what the terror we're at war with is all about. But be prepared: Timmerman does not mince words.

Timmerman reminds us that "war without a victor and a vanquished is still war," as we've seen many times in the past century. One reason we haven't seen the kind of peace that followed World War 2 is that whenever Israel has defeated Arabs in battle, Europe and the United States have made sure to guarantee an inconclusive result. The Arabs, being neither crushed nor forced to apologize nor even forced to stop incitement towards future adventures, would inevitably be encouraged to fight again. Timmerman says that "it is time to reconsider such policies."

It is true that this book emphasizes one side of the war between Israel and the Arabs. However, Timmerman takes the trouble to explain why the two sides are not symmetrical. As he says, visions of an Israeli victory would likely "resemble what we have seen over the past fifty years: Jewish sovereignty over borders defined by Israel as defensible, with full citizenship offered to Arabs who choose to live peacefully within them." On the other hand, today's Arab children are being taught that peace requires the removal of all the region's Jews. Timmerman asks which of these outcomes risks a new "Holocaust." He shows us that under Arab rule, the vanquished Jews would be likely to lose their rights, including their rights to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye Opening, April 2, 2006
This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
I'm more than halfway through. I have to stop all the time to tell my family about it. I feel like I've been betrayed by the media and our government and our schools for never mentioning this information.

There is a world of hate that wants to destroy us and we don't even know about it. Islamic countries and their leaders have declared war on us (America and the West) and we don't do anything about it.

I'm not going to run through the info, just suffice to say, if you want to know about Islam and it's goals, actions, funding, workings and far reaching influence, you MUST READ THIS BOOK!

4.0 out of 5 stars ominously revealing!, March 25, 2004

This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
First, to clear something up. In the review written by (ipcostello from California United States) this book is criticized because of it's incorrect usage of the word "anti-semitism." Timmerman clearly goes into detail about meaning of this word and its' origins. Therefore the above mentioned reviewer either did not read the book, or did not read it carefully.

Now about the book...
It is a frightening (and sad) look at how the rest of the world views America, Israel, and Jews. Specifically, it focuses on the views and actions of the Islamic faith in various parts of the world. Although I was already somewhat aware that not everybody loves us ( I am American, though not a Jew.) I had no idea just how serious the situation is. This book is a major eye-opener. Timmerman goes into subjects such as: Holocost denial, 9-11 conspiricay theories, the corruption in Yassar Arafat's PA, and probably most concerning, the outright openness of the hatred that is being taught in the Arab world (Islam) toward Jews and Americans. The revelations are shocking.

Although this book is thouroughly informative (almost to a fault) I do not feel it deserves five stars for two reasons. First, at parts, it is dreadfully difficult to follow. It reads more like a college thesis than a book published for the masses. Secondly, I wish that Timmerman wrote in a less cerebrial manner and threw in some explanations for the lay-person.

Considering everything, this will not read like that mystery novel you will take on vacation. That does not mean that it isn't worthy of being read. I would recommend it for a couple reasons. I found it to be very informative. I also liked this book because it gave me a better outlook (although not positive) about how certain other cultures see America.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Chilling Read About Freedom's Latest Enemy, November 16, 2004
By

This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world, as experienced political journalist Kenneth Timmerman ("The Selling Out of America"; "The French Betrayal of America") explains in his riveting and at times downright scary examination of modern Islam. Timmerman's book is based upon a journal he kept while traveling in various parts of the world. From it, he explores the roots of Islam's hatred of Western values and freedom by examining the religion's brutal history, historical sources, and how it is being taught to young people in societies around the world--including mosques here in America. Ironically, it is being taught as a benign and misunderstood religion in our own schools by teachers who know little about history or have their own agenda. This is a serious book that deserves a wide audience, especially among young people in Western countries. Highly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wake-up Call, November 27, 2004
This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
Kenneth Timmerman deserves our thanks for his exposure of the chilling mechanics of today's Islamic and leftist anti-semitism which targets Christians, Jews and the entirety of western culture.

"Preachers of Hate" is a compelling wake-up call that the outrage of September 11, 2001 is not merely "...a day of infamy..." but a threat that "...we will bury you..."

His opinions are founded on extensive interviews with Islamic clergy, interviews with many of the participants in the Arab/Israeli (Jewish) "peace process" and with public records.

In short, the provenance of his sources and his opinions can readily be confirmed by anyone who has the will to do so.

I, for one, have viewed many of his findings over the years and strongly concur with his conclusions, even his characterization of "European limousine liberals". Noam Chomsky is representative of the academic malaise, most recently manifesting itself in Columbia University's cesspool of overt anti-semitism among its academic staff and student body, afflicting the academic world in America and Europe, formerly bastions of open and scholarly discourse.

The chapter, "The Islamic Republic of America", documents the extent to which there is a growing 5th column in America largely funded by Saudi Arabia. The Muslim Brotherhood similarly is bankrolling cells. Some two decades ago, Ismail al-Furaqi, a Temple University professor, voiced his aspiration that America was on its way to becoming an Islamic commonwealth.

Thanks to Professor Mark Rosenbloom, Political Director of Americans for Peace Now, and to post-zionist historian Avi Shlaim, it was clear that Yossi Beilin's Oslo was a complete fraud, undercutting at every turn the late Yitzchak Rabin. Timmerman details how Norway's fascist anti-semites were midwives to Beilin's perfidy.

"Preachers of Hate" deserves the widest circulation. I am donating a copy to The Baltimore Hebrew University's Meyerhoff Library and recommend all purchasers/readers do the same to reach out to those for whom 9/11 was not a wake-up call.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing., August 14, 2004
By
M. D Roberts (Gwent, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (Hardcover)
This disturbing & gripping book provides the reader with an analysis of what is described herein as "an ancient hatred that threatens the life and livelihood of every American".

This "hatred", which is revealed by this study to be shockingly present in the modern day, is here expounded as an alleged "new anti-Semitism" that is described as targeting not only Jews but Americans and the West in general.

The book's cover itself declaring in no uncertain terms that what is being faced is not a social problem, which can be addressed through liberal policies & public money, but instead "dedicated murderers" where serious and effective policies are needed to combat them, having first recognised what the book cites as the "uncompromising depths of their hatred". A hatred which this work shows to frequently draw upon alleged "causes" which are used to provide a "sheen of legitimacy" to even the worst forms of violence (page 27).

This study investigates the depth of this alleged "hatred" concentrating mostly on the Arab world, the Middle East, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and even Europe itself but exemplifying the effects that the issue has in relation to American values and lifestyles.

Drawing upon the considerable history of this subject and quoting many religious, secular, educational and media sources, the reader is presented with a chilling scrutiny of how the young people being brought up within such cultures (the book placing particular emphasis upon those of an Islamic nature) are allegedly being "brainwashed" and "indoctrinated" with a fervent hatred that is described as even being reinforced by what are cited as the "official government-sanctioned Arab media" distributed throughout the Middle East & the International community as a whole. Examples being provided which show how the message being presented is what the book quotes as "direct incitement to murder" (page 157).

References of particular note towards the end of this presentation are the inclusion of what are cited as a Friday sermon broadcast on official Palestinian Authority TV, the Palestinian Hamas Charter and the PLO's "phased plan" to eradicate the Jewish state of Israel. The contents of these references shown in the book to mirror the "hatred" which is at the very core of this study.

Although in excess of 300 pages, this book is extremely well written and very easy to read. The concern of the source permeates the text and a creditable objectivity is obtained in relation to an extremely contentious subject, without bordering upon what some may call "Islamophobia".

Might I respectfully recommend to interested persons two other books entitled "Peace; The Arabian Caricature" by Arieh Stav and "American Prophecies" by Michael D. Evans. Thank you for your courtesy and time.

I already knew many of the facts in this book, but the way it brought the pieces of the puzzle together has profoundly changed my view of the world we live in. It paints a very perilous and distressing situation, not unlike the world of the 1930s.

Okay, so we all know how much of the Arabic world sided with the Nazis during WWII, and we all know that anti-Semitism is rampant, both historically and present day . . . but I had no idea to what extent these dynamics manifest in this world of ours.

This book is such an eye opener, and after the third read through, I continue to glean so much more information and insight.

Bravo, Mr. Timmerman, for bringing to the public a book which is a must-read for every American, and for every person wishing to live in "the Free World."

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth Matters, March 6, 2007

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Two nuggets of inestimable value surfaced in this book for me. First, it is the realization that the stupefying double-speak of so many Islamic voices is made possible by the fact that they say different things in English than they say in Arabic. The answer to this problem, as Timmerman so powerfully proves, is MEMRI (The Middle East Media and Research Institute). MEMRI is a translation service that publishes transcripts in English of articles, book excerpts, speeches, TV and radio programs, sermons, pamphlets, and school books from throughout the Middle East. Wow! I continue to be amazed and horrified by the things being said across the Arab world.

The second little gem that emerged from this important book is this question: what standards of scholarship exist in the Muslim world that would allow men of advanced degrees, academicians, professors, journalists, heads of state and leaders of the most important institutions of society to believe and disseminate such an absurd collection of wacko, lunatic theories that now consume the fetid minds of the Islamic world. From the utterly stupid, but widely reported stories of Jews distributing AIDS laced chewing gum to children; to the foolish notion of Jewish blood pastries; to the newest idiocy to sweep the universities of Islam: Holocaust Denial. It is as if entire nations were being led by the most ignorant collections of back-woods, hood-wearing, good old boys who, instead of being rejected utterly for their racism and stupidity are given credence and legitimacy on the world's stage. Does the King of Saudi Arabia also believe that the moon is made of cheese? Are the Universities of Egypt convening symposia to discuss why ships don't fall when they reach the edge of the flat earth? And exactly how many Syrian Generals does it take to screw in a light bulb?

The Truth matters and the world is burning wherever silly men are allowed to tell lies to support their irrational hatred of Jews or Israel or Bush or the US or (insert object of hatred by lunatic fringe conspiracy theorists here). Read Timmerman and be amazed.
