Book Description

2009
Lutishia Lovely is back with another smoldering journey into the scandalous and occasionally sanctified lives of people who go to church but aren't always 100% Christian... Passion Perkins is hot to trot. After being celibate for five long years, she's ready, willing, and able to end her drought. But she's also determined to hold out for Mr. Right...a man her friends say doesn't exist until Lavon Chapman walks into her life: a powerful and handsome man who has come to the community to film an inspirational DVD about Passion's minister, Doctor Stanley Lee, and his fiery wife, Carla Lee. But Lavon is only in town for eight weeks... Passion is now on a mission to make Lavon her husband and to end her celibacy...and not necessarily in that order. But she's not the only one. It seems Doctor Lee, though a master in the pulpit is a dud between the sheets, so Carla Lee has Lavon in her sights and is determined to end up on top. Before long, other members of the church community are entangled in scandals of their own, and while some are getting busy in service to the Lord, others are just simply getting busy... A spell-binding tale with some hilarious and righteous characters...nothing compares to its laugh-out-loud moments. The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers on Sex in the Sanctuary

More About the Author

Lutishia Lovely is an award-winning author of sixteen novels, six of which are romance titles written under her alter-ego pseudo, Zuri Day. In addition to her wildly popular Hallelujah Love Series, Ms. Lovely has a hot new trilogy called "The Business" about a soul food dynasty where delicious drama and sizzling scandal is always on the menu!

Prior to becoming a full-time author, Lutishia enjoyed many different careers. They all, however, had one thing in common - they all were linked into a "world of words". From administrative assistant to radio personality to actor to managing editor and senior writer for a holistic magazine, words have always been the magic that made Lutishia's world go 'round. Probably one of the spins that would most surprise readers is the fact that Lutishia was a rapper! That's right, for a short stint in the 90s, Lutishia was billed as "The Rhaptress" (a combination of a rapper and an actress), and toured with other singers and musicians throughout southern CA. She's happy now to beat out a rhythm on her keyboard...songs in the key of "writer" that she hopes will inspire and entertain!

This review is from: A Preacher's Passion (Paperback)
This book was a very good sequel to SOS. I wanted to smack Stacy so bad for being stuck on stupid and Robin just creeped me out. Bo was a trip and funny as hell. If you haven't read this book, you are missing out on a good thang. Can't wait to read the next one!

This review is from: A Preacher's Passion (Paperback)
Pastors and church kids and family ties, oh my! Lutishia Lovely's A
PREACHER'S PASSION pulled me into the lives of everyday church folks
who appear to be perfect, but who are perfectly depicted in their
utter humanness. Anyone who regularly attends church or who
counts themselves as a member of a church family can appreciate the
trials and tribulations the people between the covers of this
book experience. Take Passion Perkins, for example. She's been
holding on, waiting for God to send Mr. Perfect her way. After
five years of waiting and keeping her knees together, she believes
she's finally found him. The only problem is, Mr. Perfect has his
eyes on another woman, one who's looking right back at him, even
though she's high up on the ranking order in church and seemingly not
the type to stray from her loving husband. After all, pastors and
their wives don't have problems, do they?

Of course, they do. Just ask another high ranking pastor and his wife. They're having problems of their own, particularly with their beloved
teenage daughter. Like most young girls, she thinks she's in love and
her subsequent life choices leave much to be desired. She soon learns
the hard way that what looks good isn't always good for you, and her choices will test the limits of a strong friendship, as its never been
tested before. In fact, many friendships are tested throughout this
story and all of the tests ring true.

I appreciated Ms. Lovely's courageous foray into the lives of not so
perfect Christians and exposing them for who and what they really are - simply people. In truth, before reading this offering, I found the
characters in most of the Christian Fiction novels I'd previously read to be a little too perfect and, therefore, unrealistic. Most, if not all of the time, people don't belong on pedestals and Ms. Lovely doesn't put them
there, no matter who or what they are. Things happen and people
sometimes stray from the word of God, but it's the lessons learned
and the paths they take on their journeys back to Him that testify to
others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Perfect but Forgiven, January 4, 2009
By
This review is from: A Preacher's Passion (Paperback)
Passion Perkins was looking for love in the right place, but it was as if she could not win the man she wanted. A young mother of one, who had been celibate for five years was now ready for love. She did not want to break her vow of not getting involved in a sexual relationship until she was married. Good intentions and respect for her church leaders, did not pay off the way she thought or so she thought.

Pastor and Co-Pastor Derrick and Carla Lee seemed to have it all. The type of wedding that was picture perfect on the outside, but on the inside was missing something that would tearthem apart if not rectified. Would the Pastors be able to overcome the fatal flaw that will tear their marriage apart or the secrets that were well hidden come to the light. The respect of the church and the community will be tested as God allows the storm to come.

Robin Cook, who was Passion's best friend in high school has resurfaced and she has brought some secrets and a broken heart bent on vengeance to get what never belonged to her.

Derrick and Vivian Montgomery are best friends of the Lee's and their church families fellowship often. These relationships will be tested in their own way.

It is wonderful how Ms. Lovely put these characters together. They had great relationships much like we do today and they stick together through the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Great read, I could barely put the book down and look forward to more from Ms. Lutishia Lovely.
